About the Role:
The Principal Manufacturing Systems Analyst is responsible for the identification and development of next generation manufacturing methods including system integrations. This includes research, prototyping, testing, and demonstrating next-generation concepts to all levels of the organization. They will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Equipment Engineering, Production, IT, MES, and Global partners in the pursuit of BSC business goals and objectives. They will also support the technical development of solutions to be used for new product development (NPD) teams and provide leadership on how to transition from development systems to commercial manufacturing requirements. This person will work cross-functionally to generate ideas for next-generation manufacturing by applying new technologies, industry best practices, and leveraging BSC Plant network opportunities. They will be a site representative for discussing site requirements, site best practices, and future needs of the site while partnering with global teams to pursue global initiatives.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Lead/Influence manufacturing strategy discussions with cross functional teams, cross site teams and site leadership.
- Identify opportunities where change could be pursued that would bring value to current day manufacturing. Could be large, small, or fully transformational change opportunities.
- Participate on cross functional teams as a technical lead to identify and create change strategies including implementation, educational requirements, and sustainability.
- Works cross functionally to define digital and data strategies in the space of manufacturing production lines.
- Sets technical direction and influences cross functional team members on technical rational for the direction of the initiative.
- Leads technical discussions on next generation methods with local functional development teams and with global peers.
- Mentor and develop co-workers in the skills needed to identify system development opportunities and drive development opportunities into implemented solutions.
- Defines and re-engineers manufacturing and data systems by using appropriate methods and tools. Partners with process owners to understand requirements.
- Lead and mentor functional owners and staff in manufacturing system/integration process activities.
- Creates product/process data maps to manage system integration needs and to educate cross functional team members on data needs and opportunities.
- Participates in site level data governance efforts to drive data standardization and consistency across all business units. Helps drive data standardization in equipment projects.
- Manage large initiatives as a site lead, global technical lead, or global site representative.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills when interacting with peers, managers, and Sr. management. Must have strong cross functional collaboration skills.
- Use of support tools like PDM, E-Learning, ClearQuest, MS Office, Visio, Project, Jira, and others.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7+ years in manufacturing experience preferably in a regulated industry
- Minimum of 7+ years leveraging manufacturing data & analytics to drive business value
- Proven change agent with large scale initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with MES and ERP systems, preferably Siemens and SAP
- Proficiency in data mining
- Experience with SQL, .NET, Java, and manufacturing equipment control systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) environment
- Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on system integration and data analytics, preferably in a regulated environment
