About the role:

Boston Scientific in Maple Grove, MN is looking for an experienced Occupational Health Professional to provide occupational health services to employees. This role supports ill or injured employees from injury onset to safe return to work, ensuring optimal health and productivity. The professional will deliver cost-effective care within licensure boundaries, complying with legal, labor, regulatory, and corporate standards.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing OSHA Recording and Reporting of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses

  • Maintaining thorough and accurate recordkeeping of all work-related injuries/illnesses (OSHA logs) and submittal of required documentation to appropriate government entities (OSHA/ BLS)

  • Participation in design of programs to reduce the number of OSHA recordable injuries and lost and restricted days (e.g., early intervention programs) 

  • Collaboration with the EHS team for injury investigations

  • Support all aspects of case management for workers’ compensation claims, from communication with employees, provision of information to insurance, health care providers, etc.

  • Collaboration with relevant managers and employees to promote return-to-work through evaluation of medical restrictions and job accommodations.

  • Manage relationship and quality of service, outcomes with outside vendors for: On-site Occupational Health Clinic/ Off-site Occupational Health care providers  

  • Management of medical surveillance programs ensuring compliance with medical monitoring programs, updating protocols, receiving, and evaluating medical documentation for work clearance etc. 

  • Planning, coordinating, and delivery of health and wellness programs including coordination of outside vendors for annual first aid training, CPR/AED training, etc.

  • Participation in monthly BSC occupational health council

  • Act as a resource for all employees for both work related and non-work-related issues

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • RN, OT, PT with minimum of 5 years of experience managing Occupational Health programs

  • RN with minimum of 4 years of experience managing Occupational Health programs and Certification in Occupational Health (COHN) 

  • Experience working with medical data management system (e.g., Cority)

  • Experience with ergonomic evaluations, injuries, and continuous improvement programs

  • Proven strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Experience with a variety of computer applications

  • Case management experience

  • Ability to travel a limited amount (1-2 times per year)

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of experience managing Occupational Health programs 

  • Certification in Occupational Health (COHN)

  • Experience coordinating onsite wellness programs

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
