About the role:
Our Interventional Cardiology & Vascular Therapies (ICVT) team is expanding and has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Process Engineer to join our fast-growing Medical Device Capital Equipment space.
In this role you will support the divisional Capital Equipment portfolio enabling Design for Manufacturability (DFM), leveraging Contract Manufacturers' (CMs') capabilities and relationships, and developing effective test strategies for sub-assemblies and consoles.
We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert to inject real Contract Manufacturing (CM) experience into design, integration, NPD, and R&D decisions to improve yields and ramp up speed and overall output at CM sites.
The ideal candidate will be capable of:
- Tackling complex technical challenges in a dynamic, global setting by driving end-to-end process development—from concept through commercialization
- Enabling cross-functional collaboration and acting as a link between Boston Scientific and CMs
- Advancing towards critical issues, ambiguous requirements, or loosely defined challenges with a demonstrated ability to rally teams to achieve business results

Your responsibilities will include:
- Drive and support new product design, testing, integration, and transfer to internal and/or external manufacturing
- Apply technical knowledge to develop innovative processes, procedures, and tooling
- Execute the functional deliverables associated with PDP/TDP and Quality Management Systems
- Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package
- Prepare and present technical data and recommendations at technical and business reviews
- Ensure quality system compliance for medical device development, champion continuous improvement, and adopt best practices
- Research and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes, and/or equipment
- Train and coach technicians and other engineers
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant, professional, engineering experience; or minimum of 8 years of relevant, professional, engineering experience with an advanced degree
- Experience working in a highly-regulated industry
- Experience with electro-mechanical device assembly
- Demonstrated, strong cross-functional collaboration and project/task management, ability to influence without authority
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel, domestic and international, approximately 10%
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience in Medical Capital Equipment manufacturing
- Work experience at PCBA Contract Manufacturer
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronics manufacturing: ex (Box Build, PCBA test)
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals (LEAN, DFM, etc.) and problem-solving tools
