About the Role:

The Principal Product Manager develops and executes the strategic and tactical franchise business plan for the TheraSphere Platform and New Therapy Accelerator, as well as the related high-level initiatives.  Principal Product Managers exhibit premier marketing skills and impact the broader organization by using their expertise and influence to further its objectives.
 

Responsibilities include:

  • Initiate new approaches to key business challenges and opportunities within Global Upstream Marketing for TheraSphere & NTA Platform.
  • Use advanced marketing capabilities and approaches to drive the most complex, high impact projects to successful completion.
  • Advise, influence and communicate regularly with key stakeholders both internal and external to the organization, including top company management and key customers.  This encompasses individual and team interactions (e.g., Exploritory, PIBS, TDP/PDPs), conferences and advisory boards, in order to influence initiatives, and to secure buy-in and resources for franchise projects.
  • Ensure R&D team clearly understands voice of customer, business, and user needs and clinical indications to support commerical development through PLCP process.
  • Execute upstream responsibilities within PLCP process
  • Constantly evaluates competitive landscape and portfolio to drive cadence and market leadership
  • Anticipate the future by converting insights into key business inputs to provide durability of strategy
  • Build complex oncology models with support from Strategy to characterize opportunities
  • Support development of dossiers for Market Access and Health Economics
  • Support key regulatory submissions for Brain, Liver, and Prostate
  • May take on expanded responsibilities with high risks and unknows, requiring complex frame works to support investments. Uses insights, frame works, and trends to justify investment
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and unknowns. 
  • Develops Real World Evidence and Clinical Indication Expansion Strategies for next stage investments
  • Distills complex ideas into comprehensive business investment plans 
  • Foster collaborative relationships with customers that increase organizational understanding and presence.
  • Take leadership role on Interventional Oncology initiatives, executing with speed and quality.
  • Serve as a clinical and functional expert to external and internal customers and the broader organization: the “go-to” person for guidance, insight and questions for TheraSphere within Prostate, Brain, and Liver Cancer.
  • Lead TheraSphere Stratform Team to develop short and long term strategies with cross functional voices to ensure IO franchise maintains leadership position within Y-90 Market.
  • Drive and execute required research and assessments leading to informed business case proposals.  Research could be qualitative or quantitative, executed by internal or external resources, could involve hands-on evaluations in R&D or pre-clinical settings, and could require engagement with various global customer groups.
  • Maintain a frequent and robust dialog with colleagues across the Global organization to foster knowledge transfer and shared learnings
  • Leverage Strategy and Consulting colleagues to solve complex questions and problems
  • Mentor less experienced Marketing colleagues in developing functional and leadership skills.

What we’re looking for: 

  • 5-7 years of medical device experience within Device Oncology Upstream Marketing and in a principle or leadership level role
  • Success commercializing disruptive and or market changing devices a must
  • Strong understanding of cancer markets, reimbursement, and strategy formulation
  • Must demonstrate success solving complex problems in new or unique ways
  • Prefer therapeutic, radiation, or cancer based experience within the device space
  • Preferred experience within Brain, Liver, and Prostate Cancer (Neuro Oncology being highly preferred). 
  • BA/BS required, Master’s/MBA preferred or other advanced degrees
  • Demonstrate success working as an integral cross functional leader, and ability to develop deep clinical expertise in medical device product line
  • Strategic Minded with high degree of comfort working in high risk and unknown markets with high returns
  • Success with implementing new or provocative approaches to deliver excellence.
  • Demonstrated success supporting and/or managing complex projects
  • Ability to collaborate and work with others in a dynamic, matrix environment
  • Position requires ~30-50% travel (international included)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a MUST. 
  • Experience working in white space and or emerging markets with significant unknowns a MUST
