About the role:
The Principal Strategic Physician Engagement Manager is responsible for the strategic coordination of BSC engagement with physician customers, key opinion leaders, and physician societies across a number of channels, including advisory boards, scientific meetings, commercial engagement and special events.
Success in this role means creating a best-in-class experience for physicians in working closely with Boston Scientific PI leadership. The physician engagement manager will own the plan, related tools and internal processes required to proactively create meaningful interactions with key physicians, all while coordinating, tracking and informing internal audiences on key physician engagements.
Your responsibilites will include:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to strategically engage key physician audiences including key customers, key opinion leaders, physician advisors and society leadership:
- Benchmark other divisions / external companies on KOL/experience management and replicate any best practices
- Outline the annual calendar of engagement events including conferences, advisory boards, special projects, etc.
- Work closely with cross-functional peers to enhance physician experiences at key events
- Identify relevant processes and tools and create plans to train stakeholders on processes
- Enhance process on engaging and following up with physicians’ post engagement
- Ensure buy-in from senior leadership and key stakeholders on plan
- Coordinate key meetings between physician KOLs and franchise leaders and team members:
- Act in an assertive and proactive manner so that schedules are established well before actual events (ensure the BSC PI is the first company asking for their time at key conferences)
- Ensure close coordination with key functional partners on scheduling/calendaring, contracting and consulting and related communications
- Regularly report to leadership on events, strategic impact, new initiatives, and ongoing efforts across the spectrum of KOLs activities.
- Develop a cross functional team to provide input on the plan and process including marketing, sales and medical affairs
- Maintain the process for the development and ongoing assessment of the roster of Key Opinion Leaders according to roles and areas of interest/expertise. Collect feedback from key stakeholders and ensure leadership participation in selection process
- Has a deep understanding and knowledge of strategic physicians, establishing oneself as a go-to expert for helping to identify when and how to best engage with them.
- Work with leadership, commercial and medical affairs teams to identify and prioritize physician society engagement and initiatives
Required qualifications:
- 6+ years’ experience in marketing, medical/clinical affairs, or sales
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Masters, MBA)
- Medical device, pharmaceutical or other healthcare experience
- Experience in customer experience management, KOL mapping, or other structured relationship management
- Proven ability to create and manage relationships with physician customers, researchers and clinical advisors
- Good communicator – comfortable presenting to both customers and senior leadership
- Strong track record of collaboration across functions

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
