Process Engineer II


About the role:  

  • Within this role, an incoming engineer will work on the Watchman Implant in the Structural Heart group leading the design, commercialization, and improvements of new cutting-edge process technology and product design.  
  • We are looking for a motivated, driven, and technically curious individual that can drive execution in a diverse, challenging and hands-on environment.   
  • This individual will be working in both cross functional group settings, as well as independently, with the support of an experienced, technically strong and motivated team. 
  • This position offers the opportunity to support process development, next generation design development and product commercialization throughout Boston’s global plant network. 
  • Develop capable processes and ensure an effective transfer of product from development to production. 

 
Your responsibilities include:  

  • Collaborates with R&D to develop product concepts, test methods, design specifications and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package. 
  • Works cross functionally to develop and deliver capable, robust processes and equipment to operations. 
  • Creative problem solving to lead rapid prototyping of next generation designs 
  • Gathers technical data and provides proposed solutions for technical reviews and decision making. 
  • Assists in completing proper documentation to meet quality systems requirements (e.g., FMEA’s, etc.). Writes work instructions, process validation reports, equipment qualifications and technical reports to accurately capture experimental results. 
  • Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions. 

  
What we’re looking for: 
Minimum Qualifications 

  • 2-6 years with BS in Engineering (internships/co-ops also acceptable) 
  • Strong understanding of statistics and DFSS tools (DOE, problem solving).  
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Candidate must work well in a team environment across functions and sites. 
  • Fixture and equipment design or trouble shooting experience (CAD experience not required). 
  • Medical device or other regulated industry experience. 
  • Structural heart related experience. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Nitinol
  • Cross functional engineering experience 
  • Excels in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
