About the role:
We are looking for a motivated, collaborative, and creative individual to join our high-performing Process Development team. This position works cross-functionally to lead process development of complex technologies on innovative products, drive/develop business activities and rapid prototyping execution, and ensure efficient and effective transfer of products from concept to commercialization. This opportunity will require you to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment across multiple functions in a global medical device company.

This role offers the opportunity to support process development and product commercialization throughout Boston’s global plant network. You will be partnering cross-functionally with a technically strong, experienced, and highly engaged team.
 

Key responsibilities:

• Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes.
• Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
• Develops capable processes and ensures efficient and effective transfer of product into production.
• Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
• Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
• Writes validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.
• Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.)
• Oversees development builds associated with the project using special work requests.
• Develops qualified production lines.
• Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
• Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions.
• Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.
• May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant technical field
• 2+ years post education experience in an engineering role

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in clean room manufacturing highly preferred
• Medical device or other regulated industry experience
• Demonstrated understanding and usage of statistics to drive improvements
• Demonstrated understanding of problem solving and root cause investigations
• Expertise in Operations and/or New Product Development
• Experience with Test Method Validation
• Experience with Process Verification and Validation
• Experience with Nitinol manufacturing
• Demonstrated cross functional collaboration and influence in a technical environment
• Excels in a collaborative, cross-site environment
• Potential for travel up to 10% of their time
