About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated engineer to lead the process validation and line readiness activities to insource key shaft components of a TAVR delivery system and utilize complex technologies to innovate on next generation shaft designs. This individual will be responsible for facilitating process and equipment development, troubleshooting processes and equipment, executing process improvements and validations, and prototyping future design iterations. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to utilize their skills to solve technical and complex problems in a hands-on manner, working in a fast-paced environment across multiple functions in a global company.  This role involves working cross-functionally to develop capable processes for new products and ensuring the efficient and effective transfer of products into a production environment. This position will primarily work with in the Structural Heart Valves Process Development group, focusing on Top Assembly processes for shaft catheter design of current and future generation TAVR delivery systems. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes.
• Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, equipment and/or automation.
• Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
• Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations to technical team.
• Demonstrates good working knowledge and application of Processes and Equipment validation techniques (IQ, OQ, PQ), PFMEA’s, and associated regulatory requirements. 
• Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.)
• Oversees development builds associated with the project using special work requests.
• Develops qualified production lines and facilitates equipment set up and validation.
• Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
• Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions.
• Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.
• May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a similar engineering position
• Demonstrated engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
• Experience with process validation

 Preferred qualifications:

• Excels in a collaborative, cross-functional, cross-site environment.
• CAD design experience
• Medical device or other regulated industry experience
