1st Shift: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday - Thursday with at least 4 hours every weekend needed

 

About the role:

With general supervisory direction, assist in the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment to achieve process development project goals.

Support our NiTi chemical material processing groups, assembling, and reconfiguring experimental setups. Includes wiring, plumbing, and light CAD work as needed by project demands. Operates related equipment and instrumentation, prepares experimental setups, executes test plans, writes technical reports, and produces prototypes for R&D project teams. Work with internal groups and outside vendors to specify and implement fixtures and other system related modifications. Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on various machines. Work with engineering staff to maintain, investigate and develop system capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify and troubleshoot process, material or equipment problems to minimize down time.
  • Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures.
  • Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/product.
  • Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install laboratory consumables, tooling, materials, fixtures, and/or equipment.
  • Assist in Value Improvement (VIP) projects, implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing ones.
  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis for process characterization, Cpk, and scrap reduction goals.
  • Work with Process Development to bring new products into production.
  • Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work shift (Monday – Friday) that extends into 2nd shift (typical hours are 10AM to 6PM), as well as weekend work (Saturday and/or Sunday – approximately 8 hours total over the weekend).

 

Required qualifications:

  • AA degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Two-year Industrial Technology, Electro-Mechanical or Electronics degree OR similar time with experience in metal and chemical processing experience, electro-mechanical assembly of specialty machines
  • Thorough understanding of analog and digital electronics
  • Familiar with control systems; PLC, PC, and motion control
  • Capable of creating simple design drawings
  • Experience in regulated environment and/or medical device industry
  • GD&T understanding
  • Chemical processing equipment experiences
  • PVD Systems Operations
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented and have good communication skills

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
