About the role:
With general supervisory direction, you will be responsible for the general operation and support of prototyping and pilot manufacturing line(s) in a process development/R&D environment.  
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Aid in the design, assembly, and testing of complex equipment, and processes.
  • Perform equipment corrective, preventive, and calibration maintenance.
  • Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve equipment and processes in the lab/pilot area improving yield and/or reducing cycle time.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions for manufacturing-related issues.
  • Evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.  Develop or revise documents and procedures.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering and R&D with the testing of new products.
  • Identify, design, and implement equipment, tooling, and fixture upgrades to improve the reliability of processes.
  • Explain the operation of products, processes, and equipment during a tour, inspection, or audit.
  • Evaluate and order necessary equipment, tools, and fixtures to support operations.
  • Provide technical support and training to product builders, engineers, and other technicians.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations
  • Improve the Quality of Patient Care and all things Boston Scientific.
  • Perform chemical changes with appropriate PPE.

 

Required qualifications:

  • 1 year experience in a similar discipline with an AA degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience.

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Leadership and/or training experience.
  • Prior experience with production processes, manufacturing, automated systems, process improvement, testing, fixture design, and prototyping as well as electrical, mechanical, and control troubleshooting skills.
  • Stent finishing/processing with NiTi products and wet lines.
  • Knowledge and experience interacting with mechanical and computer interface equipment along with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds and work with hazardous materials.
  • Proficient with PC applications such as Microsoft Office and electronic records systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects independently and be adaptable to changing procedures; ability to learn new procedures due to changing products and technology.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.  If the answer is not known be driven to find the answer.
  • Knowledge of CAD software with the ability to use E-Drawings, and SOLIDWORKS a plus.
