About the Role:
 Applies skill and dexterity in the sewing of tissue components used to produce medical devices, in keeping with regulatory and company guidelines.

 

 Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Must be detail oriented 
  • Use small hand tools – needles, scissors, forceps, measuring equipment, specialized tooling, microscopes or magnified light – to perform assigned steps
  • Handle chemicals and prepare solutions 
  • Perform verifications/ inspection, against visual standards of process steps completed by self and work team colleagues. Must be willing to give constructive feedback to work colleagues on observations / defects
  • Maintain accurate documentation traceability records and review, follow and perform job functions that comply with work instructions and adherence with SOPs
  • Will also perform general work area housekeeping per work instructions, daily logs and SOPs
  • Requires on time arrival to work, regular attendance, and working a full 8 hour or longer work period

 
Required Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience with High School Diploma 
  • GMP, clean room, medical device experience Preferred

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • A background in medical device sewing and tissue valve assembly
  • Experience working with porcine (pig) or bovine (cow) tissues
  • Skilled with preparing and handling chemicals solutions used for animal tissue processing
  • Good dexterity and hand eye coordination required
  • Calm, patient approach to work and open to feedback from inspectors and engineers
  • Ability to read, comprehend and speak English, and basic communication skills required. Ability to speak Portuguese would be an added benefit. 
  • Able to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions and to sit at a station and work alone within a lab
  • Successful completion of ongoing job training of assembly process steps
  • Availability to work overtime as needed required
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others required
