About The Role:

Boston Scientific in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Production Manager I to join the NSM (Nitinol Shape Memory) team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic production environment operating across three shifts (1st through 3rd). The selected candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 4-6 supervisors and overseeing operations across a 24-hour Monday–Friday schedule. While core office hours typically fall between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, flexibility is essential to support all shifts as needed.

The Production Manager will champion operational excellence, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards within the NSM manufacturing area.

With general guidance from senior management, the Production Manager is responsible for leading a group of employees committed to increased quality and productivity. The manager supports the demand of the business unit, identifies and analyzes problems, and plans solutions. They will provide guidance to the team on development, performance and productivity issues while reporting to operations management on team accomplishments, achievements, and productivity. 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

Your Responsibilities Will Include: 

  • Plans and oversees strategic and operational plans
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-range operations goals, objectives and strategic plans; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement. 
  • Manages and/or provides day-to-day leadership to Supervisors and cross functional team members and set priorities accordingly. 
  • Commits to plant safety procedures 
  • Leads & creates engagement around continuous improvement and lean activities within the production line/area  
  • Enables a culture of Operational Excellence throughout the production line/area cross-functional team 
  • Analyzes S&OP (Sales & Operating Plan) requirements and provide production commitments for the production line/area including non-commercial requirements 
  • Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources. 
  • Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews. 
  • Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.  
  • Interprets and executes policies that affect individuals within the assigned organizational unit or department. 
  • Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations etc). 
  • Maintains personnel records (e.g., work schedules, vacation schedules, leaves) and makes or directs modifications in the database to reflect actual changes 
  • May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations. 
  • Establish and promote a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.

 

 Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and, at minimum, 5 years of operations leadership experience
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills  
  • Ability to lead a team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals
  • Experience in coaching and developing direct reports
  • Ability to foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives. 
  • Experience with monitoring/ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements). 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing 
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong strategic thinking skills

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
