About the role:

This Project Manager I opportunity is within the newly formed Interventional Cardiology/Vascular Therapies Sustaining organization, focused on the IVUS product portfolio. The individual in this role will manage product lifecycles to deliver critical therapies and systems to patients and clinicians in support of Boston Scientific’s mission.

 

The Project Manager will play an integral part in leading sustaining projects across the OptiCross product portfolio. Project scopes range from small one-off tasks to large process improvements, design changes, line extensions, design transfers, and corporate initiatives aimed at driving global productivity. The role includes oversight of both single-use devices and capital equipment.

 

This position will provide leadership to cross-functional teams and will collaborate directly with stakeholders across business units and global manufacturing sites. Functional partners may include, but are not limited to, Research & Development, Design Assurance, Packaging, Regulatory, Process Development, Operations, Supplier Engineering/Quality, Supply Chain, and Clinical.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Arbor Lakes, MN OR Coyol, Costa Rica OR Heredia, Costa Rica offices at least 3 days a week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects of varying scope, including schedule, resources, costs, and deliverables
  • Developing and implementing overall project plans, including timelines, budgets, risks, and performance metrics
  • Identifying resource and prioritization needs for assigned projects in collaboration with functional stakeholders
  • Proactively identifying, communicating, and managing technical challenges and business risks
  • Driving results with speed, agility, and adaptability while assigning clear authority and accountability
  • Integrating efforts across cross-functional teams and manufacturing sites
  • Providing structured thinking and project guidance while appropriately delegating responsibilities
  • Supporting sound decision-making through strong judgment and risk-benefit analysis
  • Leading technical investigations and helping develop project solutions
  • Managing activities and budgets across one or more projects, divisions, or product groups
  • Fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all team members can contribute fully
  • Providing regular and timely communication to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Ensuring appropriate elevation of critical decisions to functional leaders or management boards

 

Quality system requirements:

  • Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and documented processes
  • Ensures adequate resourcing (personnel, tools, etc.) to maintain Quality System compliance
  • Promotes and upholds a work environment aligned with Boston Scientific’s Quality Policy and Quality System standards

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering or project management
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant technical experience
  • Experience leading both small and large cross-functional project teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to approximately 10%
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional, multi-site teams
  • Strong organizational, execution, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision

 

Preferred qualifications and competencies:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Prior experience with sustaining engineering projects or knowledge of sustaining processes
  • Technical problem-solving expertise

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
