About This Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Maple Grove NSM Quality Engineering team of engineers supporting a growing Nitinol implantable manufacturing area; responsible for driving continuous improvement in product quality and compliance while partnering with Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams in achieving customer delivery and cost objectives.  In addition, this role will build in quality on new process integrations with a strong pipeline of new products.  The role requires a focus on strategic initiatives as the production area scales to align processes and controls with the production area strategy and its future factory vision.  With general guidance from functional management, develop and maintain quality policies and controls to ensure that product meets a high standard of customer satisfaction and conforms to global standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor field performance of product and customer feedback. Own and manage quality discrepancies related to process, product, and customer complaints; and develops scope, disposition, and corrective actions for prevention of future discrepancies.  Has a passion for leadership and provides guidance to team on development, performance, and problem solving.  Reports to functional and/or organization management on quality performance and team accomplishments.  May serve as liaison between the company and the various governmental agencies worldwide.



Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Lead a team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals.  Seek innovative approaches to attaining quality goals.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff, assist subordinates in attaining career goals, motivate individuals to achieve results, and recruit and maintain a high-performing team.
  • Manages and/or provides day-to-day leadership to Supervisors and cross functional team members and set priorities accordingly.
  • Determine appropriate staff levels and schedules.  Work with key partners to understand priorities and plan resource allocation accordingly.
  • Own and drive deliverables related to Product Performance, Quality, and Compliance; key partner in all manufacturing department goals and objectives.
  • Monitor key quality signals and drive team to achieve Best quality performance
  • Lead & create engagement around continuous improvement activities within the production line/area; driving corrective and preventive actions
  • Support new product and process integrations with built in quality and strategies that align to production area
  • Maintain and enhance cross-functional and cross-site relationships.
  • Provide guidance regarding technical strategies and approaches; work cross-functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
  • Assist in developing department budget and monitor spend.



What We’re Looking For In You: 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience with a passion for leadership
  • Technical background with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Medical Device or regulated industry experience
  • Strong communicator

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year engineering degree
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Experience supporting complex component manufacturing
  • Strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated project management success
