*Note - The preferred weekend shift is 6:00am - 6:00pm from Friday to Sunday. There may be the request to work from Saturday to Monday on occasion. *
About This Role:
The quality technician is the first point of contact for production personnel regarding quality issues. The quality technician is responsible for documenting non-conforming events as well as identifying and segregating impacted material. The position requires creative thinking and investigation skills to resolve problems that arise on a production line. The quality technician will be responsible for supporting the Watchman and Self-Expanding stent production areas, keeping material flowing and assuring quality requirements are maintained throughout the process.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Provide quality oversight to support manufacturing operations/production lines and process changes.
- Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues through the NCEP/CAPA process.
- Contribute support for CAPA activities.
- Identify areas of improvement and participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Be able to use MES system, perform MES transactions, write/approve MES NCs.
- Be able to understand PFMEA defects and their associated risks.
- Use documentation systems to research information and generate Change Requests.
- Initiate and assist in the investigation and disposition of nonconforming events.
- Update databases and spreadsheets used to track, monitor, and report department activities.
- Strong communicator to receive information from the week crew, cascade and manage over the weekend, then communicate for a successful week start.
- Ability to query and scope batches affected using SAP or other business systems.
What We’re Looking For In You:
Minimum Qualifications
- AA degree or higher
- 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical background with a passion for continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Self-motivated individual with a drive to succeed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the medical device field in a quality role
- Experience in SAP or equivalent
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Workstation error proofing experience
