R&D Engineer I   WATCHMAN

Maple Grove, MN (Onsite)

 

About the role:

We have a new engineering opportunity in WATCHMAN within Boston Scientific’s Cardiology Group. WATCHMAN continues to be an exciting growth driver for Boston Scientific (BSC).  As our organization grows, we are expanding our engineering team to meet increasing demand. In this role, you will demonstrate a blend of technical knowledge and clear decision making. You will be playing an important technical role in developing next-generation products so BSC can deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Participate on a project team to contribute the necessary technical work related to product design, test methods and fixture development.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, root cause investigations, and failure mode assessments. 
  • Develop thorough test plans, drive experiment execution, analyze data, and present findings.
  • Read, understand and create design drawings for the purposes of building, evaluating, testing and troubleshooting assemblies.
  • Create CAD models and drawings of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures.

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering).
  • Ability to develop creative solutions and collaboratively draw ideas from cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
  • Willingness to work onsite at our Maple Grove, MN site

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Experience with medical device or regulated industry design control process and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Candidates should be self-starters and have a hands-on approach.

Base Salary Range

Minimum Salary: $ 58200 

Maximum Salary: $ 110500 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

 

Compensation for exempt  roles  may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
