About the role:
Boston Scientific’s Preclinical Division in Maple Grove is seeking a dedicated, full-time R&D Analytical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic and highly collaborative team. In this on-site role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting advanced material and product testing within a GxP-regulated laboratory environment.

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work mode five days a week in Maple Grove, MN. Your responsibilities will include:
• Perform ICP, FTIR, XRF, and optical interferometry testing in a GxP-compliant manner, following full training and established procedures.
• Collaborate with internal customers to determine the most appropriate analytical approach for a wide range of sample types and testing objectives.
• Work independently on assigned tasks while effectively engaging with subject matter experts and supervisors for guidance or collaboration when needed.
• Conduct routine equipment maintenance and support senior staff with instrument retirements, method development, and validation activities.
• Perform basic to intermediate data analysis—including historical data comparisons and literature reviews—to support scientifically sound conclusions.
• Document results clearly and accurately through technical reports, lab notebooks, LIMS entries, and experimental records in full compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards.
• Contribute to daily lab operations, including supply ordering, inventory control, and adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and housekeeping protocols.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4–6 years of relevant industry experience working directly with laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience working in a GxP or similarly regulated laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with laboratory documentation systems and best practices, including LIMS, logbooks, and inventory management.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow established procedures and work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Must be available to work full-time, first shift, and on-site at the Maple Grove facility; no travel is required.
Preferred qualifications:
• Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA) in a scientific or technical discipline.
• Prior experience within the medical device industry, particularly involving components such as stents, catheters, or related devices.
• Direct hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, specifically ICP, FTIR, XRF, and optical interferometry.
• Familiarity with GxP laboratory practices in a preclinical or R&D setting.
• Previous experience working at Boston Scientific or with Boston Scientific products, systems, or processes.
• Demonstrated adaptability in complex lab environments, with the ability to independently execute procedures and troubleshoot technical challenges.
