About the role:
Boston Scientific’s Cardiovascular Finance and Accounting Group is looking for a self-motivated, well organized, analytical, detail-oriented individual to assist in the monthly close accounting process. The individual should possess strong communication skills, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and a proven ability to manage concurrent projects in a fast-paced, challenging environment and be eager to contribute to the success of the department and the company.
Key responsibilities include:
The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, preparing reports, and performing the monthly financial close, forecasting, and consolidation duties.
- Manages finished goods inventory accounting for Cardiovascular divisional team; provides meaningful analytics and expense projections
- Works closely with Supply Chain, Field Inventory, and franchise teams to establish and monitor inventory reserves. Additionally, assists with product lifecycle planning and launch execution
- Collaborate with Accounting and Finance partners in the global regions, plant networks, and corporate teams on various aspects of finished goods inventory accounting
- Assists in the planning and execution of the annual field inventory counts
- Researches and communicates accounting policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP
- Performs month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Compiles and analyzes financial information through preparation of reports, general ledger entries, and journal entries
- Assures financial accuracy by preparing internal management reporting and analysis
- Maintains internal control envrionment and assists with regular SOX documentation and testing requirements
- Supports annual operating plan and interim forecast cycles
- Supports internal and external audits
- Takes an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and standardizing processes
What we're looking for:
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of progressive experience with a public accounting firm or large, complex multi-national company
- Prior inventory accounting experience preferred
- Detail oriented
- Self-starter
- Strong integrity
- Winning spirit
- Must have highly developed customer relationship and communication skills
- Inquisitive and takes an active interest in opportunities to improve the efficiency of work
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications; SAP and Hyperion experience preferred
Preferred qualifications:
- Combination of Audit and Industry Accounting experience
- High proficiency with Excel
- CPA
