Senior Buyer

 

About the role:

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the direct purchasing interface with suppliers for the business or project assigned and ensures the effective execution of purchasing transactions to cost, quality and delivery requirements, including Supply Chain Management.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serves as primary direct purchasing contact. Fosters positive and mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers
  • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skill-sets to proactively manage supplier relationships and any associated issue resolution or continuous improvements projects
  • Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules. Supports the maintenance of inventory at planned levels, supplier forecasting, and associated reporting
  • Understands and communicates component specifications to suppliers
  • Able to read drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and other requirements
  • Timely review and execution of requisitions and purchase orders
  • Manage open purchase orders along with the timely receipt and invoicing of goods and services
  • Partner with suppliers and stakeholders to purchase goods and services at an optimal price concurrent with maintaining Boston Scientific Quality standards
  • Possesses strong communication, relationship management, and presentation skillsets
  • Ability to work cross functionally and foster teamwork with internal customers and partners
  • Partner with Receiving, Accounts Payable and others as necessary to resolve goods receipts, invoice errors, or other related issues
  • Analyze frequent spend and develop recommendations for improvement in cost, inventory levels and process
  • Adhere to company policies, Procurement, Finance, Quality, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and all Corporate policies
  • Ensure compliance with the Boston Scientific Quality System and Approved Vendor List

 

What we're looking for in you:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-8 years' experience in the field or equivalent education, experience, skill set, and/or proven performance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP, strong Excel skills, and Med Device experience
