About the role:
Boston Scientific's WATCHMAN franchise is expanding and seeking an experienced Senior Digital Product Owner to lead digital innovation efforts focused on optimizing workflow and capacity. Our mission is to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet the evolving needs of our users and drive business growth. As we continue to expand our product portfolio, we are seeking a talented Product Owner to join our team and lead the charge in shaping the future of our products.


As a Senior Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our products from conception to delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the product vision, define the roadmap, and execute strategies that deliver tangible value to our users and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in digital product management.

 

Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the product vision and strategy
  • Execute the product roadmap and deliver technology solutions that create value
  • Define and refine success metrics in partnership with the business to align with strategic goals
  • Conduct continuous discovery to identify and validate unmet user needs
  • Evaluate solution paths with design and development teams, considering custom and third-party options
  • Prioritize product features using qualitative and quantitative data
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development
  • Estimate effort, assess feasibility and risks, and prioritize stories based on business objectives
  • Lead discovery and framing activities that support product strategy
  • Manage and coordinate software releases to ensure timely, high-quality delivery, including new features, bug fixes, and performance updates
  • Oversee and manage the annual SOC2 Type 2 audit process
  • Monitor feature effectiveness and identify areas for improvement using data and feedback
  • Promote a culture of innovation by staying informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices
  • Advocate for user-centered design, agile development, and continuous discovery across the organization
  • Foster experimentation and collaboration to deliver innovative solutions that optimize workflow, expand capacity, and generate business value

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Design, or a related field, or 3 years equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital product management, product design, or product engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum or SAFe
  • Track record of delivering software products through cross-functional teams, from discovery through launch
  • Experience writing user stories, managing product backlogs, and prioritizing development work
  • Experience leading product discovery and defining product strategy
  • Experience planning and coordinating software releases, including performance improvements and user experience updates
  • Familiarity with software compliance processes, including SOC2 Type 2 audits
  • Proficiency using product analytics tools to define and track success metrics
  • Experience collaborating with designers and engineers to evaluate solution options

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Experience in medical imaging or familiarity with DICOM standards
  • Experience conducting build vs. buy assessments for technology solutions
  • Experience with service design or workflow design beyond core product management practices
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Ability to coach non-technical stakeholders in product processes and agile practices
  • Strong analytical mindset with a curiosity for uncovering user insights
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, think creatively, and propose innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment
  • Previous or current experience working in the Boston Scientific ecosystem

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
