Purpose Statement:

To create a link between corporate (strategic) and field (execution) functional objectives by providing leadership in the evaluation of business opportunities, distribution model optimization and implementation techniques.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate strategic alignment within the commercial organization and lead divisional efforts to address short and long-term business challenges and strategic business planning.
  • Consult with Sales Management and Senior Leadership on commercial challenges and evaluate new business opportunities, managing all aspects of strategic evaluation and implementation process: identification and awareness of problem/opportunity, market, competitive and customer analysis, creation of strategic recommendations, management of pilot programs in the field, planning and communication of field execution.
  • Lead key commercial projects including organizational integration(s), economic selling expansion opportunities, and strategic alliance development.
  • Enable Solutions that drive sales growth via recommendations on sales training, customer relationship management efficiencies, and unique strategies to grow complex products.
  • Partner across the organization to recommend approaches for Sales Compensation, Sales Analytics, Sales Communications, and other commercial operations functions.
  • Design new distribution and economic business models in anticipation of changing customer needs, competitive models and long-term macro trends (pricing, policy, industry, etc.).
  • Collaborate across divisions to capitalize on distribution model synergies that impact efficiency and revenue growth.
  • Recruit, develop and evaluate top talent to build strategic capabilities of the function.

  • May lead a broad team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals.  Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.

Quality System Requirements:

In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

For those individuals that supervise others, the following statements are applicable:

  • Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
  • Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years of sales operations, business analytics and/or commercial finance work experience within the healthcare/medical device industry
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment, and past management experience providing leadership, development and coaching to a high performing team
  • Strong ability to consult & influence directly with senior sales leadership on commercial challenges and new business opportunities, managing all aspects of strategic evaluation and implementation
  • Strong business acumen & strategic thought leadership
  • 25 % Travel
