About the role:
Responsible for the strategic development and oversight of a Medical Education team designing and delivering integrated medical education strategy & tactical program delivery to enable the safe and effective use of Boston Scientific’s Peripheral Interventions technology in the care of vascular patients. Deliver best-in-class training & education programming to meet the needs of physicians in practice, physicians in training, allied health providers and healthcare administrators via innovative, peer-to-peer multi-modality education strategies.

 

Work Mode:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Development and implementation of an integrated Medical Education strategy and associated budget to support organizational objectives.
  • Monitor, manage and report on budget compliance.     
  • People management for direct reports. Define resourcing plans, hire, onboard and retain team talent. Provide coaching and develop the team. Identify growth opportunities and assist subordinates in attaining career goals. Motivate individuals to achieve results.
  • Engage physician and allied-health professional thought leaders in the peripheral vascular space to develop and define world-class Medical Education programs.
  • Identifies and implements strategies to address educational needs of health care providers aligned to Boston Scientific technologies.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the industry, expert speakers, and well-known academicians who can deliver the defined curriculum, as well as provide technical and clinical insight with real-world applications. Work with team members to engage identified KOLs and HCPs to execute education strategy.
  • Identify and develop needed metrics and reporting to evaluate medical education program quality and impact. Identify areas of improvement and new opportunities to meet organizational goals. Implement solutions and make recommendations to management to improve performance and impact.
  • Oversee and participate in the development, delivery, coordination, review, and assessment of all aspects of medical education curriculum to ensure quality, compliance and consistency.
  • Ensure physician activities and programs are compliantly conducted in accordance with Boston Scientific policies.
  • Develop team’s ability to design curricula and learning objectives by assessing and analyzing HCP requirements and training needs, aligning organizational objectives and initiatives, and obtaining/developing educational content for delivery through most effective pedagogical methodologies and modalities.
  • Manage the team to effectively execute activities of major significance to the organization and represent the organizational unit as an internal and external expert on medical education.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years working in the Medical Device space, or other related experience, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of people management experience
  • Prior experience developing relationships and working collaboratively with HCP’s to achieve shared objectives.
  • Ability to provide onsite support of education programs (up to 35% travel)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively in a matrixed organization.
     

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience with instructional and/or curriculum design
  • Thinking strategically with appetite for innovation and continuous learning
  • Proven project management and organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
