As a Senior Manager, you will lead the development and execution of global Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) strategies for TheraSphere, the leading Y-90 therapy within Boston Scientific's Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E) franchise. Serving as the HEMA lead for TheraSphere, you will drive evidence generation, reimbursement, coding and value communication strategies that support product adoption, market expansion and long-term commercial success across the IO&E global enterprise.

 

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Global Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical, R&D, Regulatory, Commercial and regional HEMA teams to identify evidence needs, shape market access strategies, develop customer-facing value solutions and advance reimbursement and coding initiatives across key global markets.

 

The ideal candidate is an accomplished HEMA professional with expertise in reimbursement, health economics, market access strategy and U.S. health care policy. You will bring a track record of partnering with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the American Medical Association (AMA), specialty societies and other external stakeholders to support the development and implementation of new product and/or procedural coding strategies. Success in this role requires the ability to translate clinical and economic evidence into compelling value propositions, influence cross-functional stakeholders and navigate complex global health care environments to improve patient access and drive business growth.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute the global Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) strategy for TheraSphere across the product lifecycle.
  • Lead reimbursement, coding and payment strategies to support downstream initiatives, including product adoption, market expansion and long-term commercial success, as well as upstream initiatives, including new indications, software-enabled solutions and next-generation technologies.
  • Identify evidence gaps and drive health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and real-world evidence strategies that demonstrate the economic value of TheraSphere.
  • Collaborate with Global Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical, Regulatory, R&D, Commercial and regional HEMA teams to integrate market access considerations into product strategy and commercialization plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with physician key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional societies, payer organizations and other external stakeholders to advance market access objectives.
  • Provide strategic HEMA leadership for new indications, lifecycle management initiatives and pipeline programs.
  • Partner with global and regional market access teams to align evidence generation and reimbursement strategies while supporting successful execution in North America.
  • Apply strong analytical and strategic thinking to evaluate market dynamics, prioritize investments and measure the impact of HEMA initiatives.
  • Execute with speed and agility, influencing cross-functional teams and driving alignment across a complex global matrix organization.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative and high-performing team environment while serving as a trusted market access adviser across the IO&E TheraSphere franchise.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in health economics, market access, reimbursement, HEOR, health policy or a related function within the medical device, pharmaceutical or health care industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing reimbursement and market access strategies that support the commercialization of medical technologies.
  • Experience working with CMS, the AMA and/or other external stakeholders to support product or procedural coding, reimbursement or payment initiatives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical, R&D, Regulatory, Commercial and Sales organizations.
  • Strong analytical, communication and project management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree, such as an MBA, MPH, MHA, MS, PharmD or Ph.D.
  • Background supporting interventional oncology, oncology, interventional radiology, vascular or other complex medical device therapies.
  • Expertise in developing health economic evidence, value messaging, budget impact models or real-world evidence to support market access.
  • Familiarity with supporting new product and/or procedural coding through CMS, the AMA or specialty societies.
  • Proven ability to partner with global or regional market access teams to support commercialization across international markets.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives within a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
