Purpose/Role Statement 

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for driving new product development efforts for the WATCHMAN Franchise – including the next generation of LAAC devices and delivery systems. S/he will need to develop an understanding of current and future market dynamics and the competitive landscape. The role will require the gathering KOL feedback, drafting of the Market Spec, Business inputs, identifying clinical needs, and guiding overall product development. S/he will need to work closely with a cross-functional team (R&D, Project Management, Regulatory, Clinical, Global Marketing team and others). S/he will need to be able to manage multiple development projects in parallel and must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision. 

To be successful, the Senior Product Manager will also need to understand the pipelines and future device iterations of competitors and how they will impact the LAAC space in the future. S/he will need to guide the WATCHMAN strategic response to these threats.  The


Senior Product Manager will also need to identify any key gaps in the LAAC portfolio, and recommend internal development pathways or external partnerships to address those gaps so as to ensure that WATCHMAN remains the leader of the global LAAC space. 
Finally, the Senior Product Manager will represent the broader development team with physician at WATCHMAN Advisory Boards, animal labs, and KOL meetings. S/he will need to identify and prioritize amongst numerous topics for physician feedback and utilize those meetings to gather key feedback to best inform the Franchise on development activities. S/he will be responsible for content creation, content delivery, and turning feedback into action plans.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop marketing and strategy input to for future LAAC product cadence over next five years.
  • Define and execute market research  and prioritize new product development decisions for the WATCHMAN franchise
  • Drive global alignment on key areas of product and marketing strategies
  • Collaborate and align with marketing team and cross-functional team members to ensure future development plans will deliver overall revenue and profit objectives.
  • Builds business case for future product portfolio and new market opportunities.  Gains global market, team insight and makes recommendations.
  • Demonstrates command of key business trends and market conditions through market research, clinical literature, metrics, coordination with customer interfacing teams and personal interaction with key customers
  • Influence Global PM team, Sales Training, R&D, MarComm.  Leverage best practices and set Franchise up for successful product launches.  Provide ongoing support to the sales including education, resources & collateral.
  • Strength in building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including focus on KOLs, clinicians and experience or aptitude to drive quick integration.  Fosters/leverages strong collaborative relationships
  • Anticipate competitive activities, monitor competitive pipelines, and be strategically respond to competitive initiatives and marketing campaigns
  • Strong collaboration with Global Marketing Team to execute franchise strategies and tactics globally, and influence their downstream launch plans to maximize revenue
  • Identify potential gaps in the WATCHMAN product portfolio and pipeline and assess outside opportunities to address those gaps.
  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements


  • Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required.  MBA or ME preferred
  • 5+ years of successful related business experience, medical device experience is preferred
  • 3-5 years prior Product Management experience or Engineering experience preferred, including strategic commercialization
  • Proven track record of Physician and KOL engagement required
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and partner with internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to engage and influence cross-functional colleagues, even without direct reporting relationships 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to mobilize  key stakeholders and engage leadership
  • Willing to travel 20% - 30%, including domestic and international
