About the role:
As a Senior Program Manager, you will lead a high-impact, cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) initiative within the Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E) division at Boston Scientific. This role is responsible for overseeing a business-critical program within the TheraSphere product line, guiding it from the Technology Development Process (TDP) through the Product Development Process (PDP) and ultimately to full commercial launch.
This project carries significant complexity and visibility across the organization and interfaces with a number of related initiatives at various stages of development. You will collaborate with key stakeholders across marketing, regulatory affairs, R&D, process development, design assurance, clinical, and other departments to ensure seamless program execution and alignment with divisional strategy.
This position requires strong cross-functional leadership, strategic execution, and the ability to manage high-performance teams in a dynamic, regulated environment.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be onsite in our Arbor Lakes, MN office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading medium to large cross-functional product development teams through full lifecycle execution
- Providing feedback to functional managers on team and individual performance
- Creating and managing detailed project plans, communications, and schedules to align priorities and workloads
- Building ownership and accountability within the team to ensure milestone achievement and timely deliverables
- Delegating tasks appropriately and managing risk across project scope, schedule, and resources
- Interfacing with senior leaders on complex project matters requiring coordination across multiple functions or regions
- Delivering regular project updates and business phase reviews to senior leadership
- Developing budgets, resource allocation plans, and long-range timelines to ensure program success
- Partnering with global and cross-functional teams to drive alignment and resource planning
- Identifying and resolving technical risks throughout the product development lifecycle
- Leading program-level communications across internal and external stakeholders
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in product development or project/program management in a regulated industry
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing scope, schedule, and budget
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Ability to lead through influence and apply situational leadership to manage team dynamics
- Results-oriented with a positive, proactive mindset focused on execution excellence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and project management platforms (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in oncology or oncology-related medical device development
- PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification
