About the role:
The Senior Sales Training Manager will define strategy and objectives for the design, development and implementation of all training programs and meetings for the Corporate Accounts (CA) organization.  You will develop and execute training programs for experienced and high performing consultative sales professionals representing all divisions of Boston Scientific in addition to various functional teams across CA (e.g., Pricing & Contracting, Marketing, Strategy & Sales Operations, etc.).  


You will have broad exposure to leaders, business strategies and objectives across the organization.  You will act as the liaison between divisional and corporate training departments, divisional and CA leadership, field leadership, marketing, and other departments in the organization to establish objectives and ensure the successful execution of all training programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop & implement long term training strategy for current & new curriculum
  • Lead team in the achievement of department and organizational goals; hire, develop and retain direct reports
  • Partner with team, internal stakeholders, and subject matter experts to effectively design, develop and deliver training programs and content that are meaningful and relevant to the CA team 
  • Work with people managers on the onboarding and continued development of individual team members as needed
  • Work with CA leadership and teams to understand the business needs for future training, special projects, and programs; maintain knowledge of the healthcare industry and competition to modify and prioritize strategies
  • Provide coaching, influence, and communicate across multiple levels of the organization
  • Build strategic partnerships across CA and Divisions to further departmental and organizational objectives
  • Establish and execute sales training measurements of success and ROI; manage and drive continuous improvement of training programs and activities
  • Develop strategy and related approach for learning management systems and online delivery tools
  • Participate in cross functional core team to design, develop and execute sales meetings: National Sales Meeting, Summer Sales Meeting, and Area Team Meetings
  • Work closely with Strategy & Sales Ops Director, Marketing Director, and other functional departments on various strategic projects as needed
  • Build & manage external vendor partner relationships
  • Assist Strategy & Sales Operations Director to develop, monitor and appropriately adjust the annual budget for training department


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of related work experience, including sales/sales training, clinical education and/or marketing work experience
  • Experience creating training strategies and materials
  • Expertise and shared interested in both content development and classroom facilitation in a corporate setting
  • Strong collaboration with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within an organization
  • Attention to details and strong project management skills
  • Excellent listening, presentation, organizational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Expert Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical device experience
  • Knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory and implementation
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools to include salesforce.com
  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills, processes, and methodologies
  • Previous sales or sales related experience
