About the role:
Support and create accurate, compelling, and timely communications to maximize the understanding and amplification of clinical evidence in support of left atrial apprendage closure and the WATCHMAN device.  Monitors industry activity to identify the clinical and educational needs of our customers.  Interfaces with a wide variety of cross-functional areas to assess clinical data landscape, gaps, and opportunities, and provides the organization with publication strategy, educational recommendations and related activities to establish, enhance or amplify therapy effectiveness within the clinical community.  Serves as clinical content expert for both key physician customers, medical community leadership societies and BSC business partners.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the development, dissemination, and amplification of scientific clinical content in a variety of communication vehicles to ensure appropriate evaluation and presentation of data, interpretation, and alliance with business objectives.
  • Partner with Medical Education and other business partners to develop strategy for educational programs; responsible for the development of educational content as needed for internal and external speaker requests.
  • Partners closely with key opinion leaders to solicit feedback and develop publication strategy, podium strategy, and educational content.  In doing so, this role serves as an advisor and expert for physicians needing to access relevant clinical content.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of expertise in data pertaining to all marketed and pipeline products, as well as a solid knowledge base of current data developments in relevant fields of assigned technologies.
  • Attends scientific conferences and programs in relevant therapeutic areas to maintain current knowledge. Overnight travel (15-25%) to scientific conferences and other meetings within and outside the U.S.
  • Interacts with marketing, clinical and other groups outside Scientific Communications to ensure clinical data are represented accurately in prepared materials.
  • Collaborates with global business partners (marketing, R&D, clinical, medical education, etc.) to develop and manage  a comprehensive and robust publication strategy aligned with clinical trial timing, industry data landscape, customer needs, and internal business objectives.  Deliver recommended plans to CMO and other business partners for direction and approval.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience (medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology) in a related function such as clinical, research, marketing, medical affairs or product development or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of clinical issues associated with cardiology and rhythm management gained through direct or comparable relevant experience in a therapeutic area, scientific or clinical setting is acceptable. 
  • Strong scientific and medical writing acumen.

 
Preferred qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
  • Successful experience managing projects, preferably on a global level.
  • Working knowledge of clinical research life cycle and statistical methods with an emphasis on publication planning and execution.
