Senior Research Engineer
About the role:
- This role is for an innovative technical contributor to support BSC’s Peripheral Interventions (PI) Division. This individual will lead efforts to establish and refine translational research models in support of venous disease product development. Methods may include in vitro, preclinical and analytical methods.
Your responsibilities include:
- Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential technologies, materials, processes and products.
- Plans and executes laboratory research to prove feasibility of concepts.
- Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences.
- Participates in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
- Consults and interacts with outside and inside experts.
- May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
- Write and submit professional articles for technical journals.
What we’re looking for:
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 - 8 Years with BS OR 3 - 6 Years with MS OR 1 - 3 Years with PhD
- Engineering degree required, advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of cardiovascular physiology, specifically for the composition and fluid mechanics of blood.
Preferred Qualifications
- Translational research experience
- Duplex ultrasound imaging knowledge
- Computational mathematics
- Medical device quality system knowledge
- Effective communication skills cross-functionally, vertically, and externally
