About the role:
As an Upstream Product Manager supporting Boston Scientific’s Interventional Oncology portfolio, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our products—from identifying unmet clinical needs to guiding new innovations through development and into commercialization. Leveraging your strategic insight and customer-centric mindset, you will translate market intelligence and clinical feedback into actionable product strategies that drive impactful outcomes for patients and providers. This is a highly visible role that requires cross-functional collaboration, customer engagement, and strong leadership to influence key business decisions.
Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic planning & market insight:
- Lead market analysis to identify unmet clinical needs and emerging industry trends
- Define product vision and strategy based on Voice of Customer (VOC) research and competitive intelligence
- Collaborate with R&D to provide product design inputs and support feasibility assessment activities
Product development leadership:
- Drive the new product development process, including concept evaluation, feature optimization, and launch planning
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Sales, and Education) to ensure alignment and execution across functions
- Lead product lifecycle planning and portfolio strategy initiatives
Customer & stakeholder engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), advisory boards, and physician customers
- Facilitate user needs workshops and incorporate customer feedback into upstream product development
- Serve as the voice of the customer in cross-functional forums and internal development meetings
Training & enablement:
- Contribute to upstream marketing training programs, including content development and facilitation
- Share best practices across the organization and provide informal mentorship to junior team members
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or business
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data and translate into actionable insights
- Proven cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience working with global teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel up to 30%, including international travel
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree
- 4 years' experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in upstream product marketing within the medical device industry preferred
- Experience in interventional oncology, embolization therapies, or image-guided interventions
- Exposure to hybrid roles encompassing forecasting, sustaining work, or quality oversight
- Participation in leadership development programs, training integration efforts, or cardiology-focused initiatives
