Process Engineer Supervisor

 

About the Role: 

 

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and talented engineer with proven ability to supervise engineers and technicians and lead the development and commercialization of new cutting-edge technology.  The successful candidate for this position will be self-motivated, technically strong, excited to motivate and lead others, and drive ownership to challenging process development opportunities. The candidate must have a desire to utilize their skills to solve technical/complex problems in a hands-on manner, working in a fast-past environment, and across multiple functions.  

  

Your Responsibilities Include: 

  • Supervise and/or mentor engineers and technicians within a technology group like Extrusions, Braiding and Coiling or the Laser and Nitinol Labs within the process development team. 
  • Provide work direction, develop and motivate direct reports. 
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation. Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems. 
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements. (e.g., BOM’s, Routers, FMEA’s, etc.) 
  • Write and review validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes. 
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package. 
  • Contribute ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions. 
  • May serve as a core team lead or extended team member on new development projects. 

  

What We’re Looking For: 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS in Engineering and 5-8 years’ experience or MS and 3-6 years’ experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise engineers and/or technicians and/or lead technical teams 
  • Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop equipment / fixtures from concept to production. 
  • Demonstrated use of DFSS tools (DOE, problem solving).

  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience providing guidance to and training engineering teams associated within development projects, motivate individuals to achieve results, and drive objectives to completion while maintaining a strong working environment. 
  • Mechanical or hands-on processing experience. 
  • Highly motivated individual that can independently drive deliverables to completion thru collaboration among team members and internal support staff. 
  • Understanding of DFM, medical device design control / quality systems and the product development process (PLCP) is highly desired.
