About the role: 

Learning and Development exists to improve organizational and leadership effectiveness, and to build workforce capabilities to substantially improve business performance and the quality of patient care. The Training and Development Manager is responsible for managing and implementing the design and delivery of training and development programs within the Production Department at our Maple Grove, MN site. Additionally, they provide consultative assistance to managers and supervisors on ways to enhance individual and organizational performance.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Site subject matter expert (SME) and point of contact for Maple Grove’s Direct Labor training processes, the Training Record System (TRS) and all related subsystems and processes.
  • Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel.
  • Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments.
  • May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.
  • May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.
  • Leads Lean Business Process (LBP) initiatives with site wide impact.
  • Leads both local and global projects requiring critical project management skills.
  • Actively participates in BSC Global Training & Development Network. 
  • Works with training and development counterparts from across the company to leverage development resources and programs for groups at all levels.
  • Leads a team of employees in the achievement of organizational training goals. 
  • Guides, coaches, directs, and develops direct reports while driving practices throughout their organization.
  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements including CFR 820/211 and ISO 13485).
  • Represents BSC Training Systems and site training requirements for internal/external audits.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of related experience, experience in a regulated industry is preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a Production Supervisor is strongly preferred
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience facilitating trainings
