About the Role: 
    
Since 2015, the WATCHMAN Franchise has been one of the fastest growing teams within Boston Scientific and Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) is one of the fastest growing Structural Heart therapies worldwide. This new role, WATCHMAN Senior Business Strategy Analyst, will work across the Franchise to implement key commercial strategies with the goal of growing LAAC therapy to be over a $1 billion market opportunity worldwide. 

 

The purpose of this role is to create a link between corporate (strategic) and field (execution) objectives by providing commercial leadership in the evaluation of business opportunities, go-to-market strategies, and distribution model optimization.  This position will work with cross functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and Corporate Accounts, as well as with leadership across our Cardiology businesses.  
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess new commercial business opportunities and contribute to all aspects of the strategic evaluation and implementation process: 
    • Identification and awareness of problem/opportunity
    • Market, competitive and customer analysis
    • Creation and presentation of strategic recommendations
    • Execution of pilot programs (if necessary) 
    • Planning and communication of field execution
  • Contribute to the evolution of our WATCHMAN go-to-market strategies for our next generation technologies through our launch planning and execution processes.
  • Utilize business analytics to drive critical business decisions that solidify our market leadership position and maximize our revenue.
  • Lead market research and consulting engagements in support of solving business critical commercial challenges. 
  • Conduct cross-divisional analysis of sales data to identify distribution model synergies that could impact efficiency and revenue growth pan-Cardiology.
  • Partner with Corporate Accounts team to drive alignment and execution of WATCHMAN commercial strategies across our customer networks and systems. 
  • Identify competitive go-to-market strategies that may create barriers to future WATCHMAN growth and recommend actions to overcome those risks.
  • Monitor changing customer needs, competitive models, and long-term macro trends (pricing, policy, industry, etc.) and develop strategic recommendations for future distribution and economic business models.
  • Evaluate pricing and reimbursement strategies for current and future products across all relevant customer and market segments. 
  • Develop and communicate the strategic, financial, and administrative implications of proposed and/or implemented pricing and contracting policies.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Consulting, or related field required
  • MBA or other advanced degree, preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in management consulting; OR 3-5 years in market research, business strategy/analytics or product marketing experience in the healthcare space
  • Medical Device / Healthcare experience preferred
  • Must have ability to drive communications strategies and influence senior level stakeholders
  • Must have strong communication & execution skills
  • Strong financial, analytical, and quantitative skills.  Experience defining and utilizing a broad range of secondary research, primary qualitative and primary quantitative research techniques to derive market and customer insights
  • Excellent project management: planning and organizing project assignments of substantial variety and complexity; defining and managing overall schedule for project and milestones (both owned & assigned to others); often serving as project lead coordinating activities of a cross-functional team
  • Experience with pricing strategies and contracting execution a plus
  • Familiarity with SAP, Salesforce.com and other common reporting and sales enablement tools a plus
  • Travel: 10%
