About the role: 

Boston Scientific is seeking a strategic, collaborative and results-driven communicator to lead the development and execution of communication strategies to enhance the company’s employer brand, culture and employee experience. This role will serve as a communications lead to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and be an advisor to the senior HR leadership team. The ideal candidate is an excellent storyteller with a strong background in employer brand strategic communications, change management and enterprise HR program promotion. The position will play a key role in shaping the company’s culture, reinforcing values and advancing a focus on innovation and high performance.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead the development of overarching, integrated global HR communication strategies that inform, inspire and engage current and prospective employees and drive alignment to HR strategies and priorities. 
  • Support the CHRO and act as an advisor to key members of the senior HR leadership team to advance messaging, communications strategies and tactics. 
  • Shape and articulate the HR narrative through compelling, authentic content aligned with the CHRO’s voice and organizational values across platforms such as LinkedIn and internal social channels. 
  • Create high-impact written communications, presentations, videos and talking points for internal audiences, as well as key external-facing leadership communications including thought leadership content in close collaboration with the corporate reputation team. 
  • Foster strategic collaboration with senior HR leaders, business partners and the Corporate Communications team to align, integrate and reinforce organizational change communications and other business-critical change efforts.  
  • Proactively ensure a consistent voice in all communications that aligns with the Boston Scientific corporate brand, employee value proposition and workplace culture. 
  • Enable new and effective methods for developing compelling and interactive employee communications around strategy, business priorities, organizational change and culture. 
  • Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of change initiatives, track progress, and drive continuous improvement based on feedback and data analysis.  
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to company values and furthering a diverse and inclusive team environment.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field 
  • A minimum of 10 years of communications experience within a corporate or agency environment 
  • A minimum of 8 years creating enterprise-wide and executive-level communications that support employer brand initiatives and experience contributing to global transformation projects 
  • Exceptional writer and multi-channel storyteller 
  • Strong understanding and experience developing and executing enterprise communication strategies across internal and external channels focused on advancing business goals, employee engagement and executive thought leadership  
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to lead strategic communication plans resulting in timely, high-quality deliverables and results 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing or contributing to executive social media presence, particularly in support of HR or corporate communications 
  • Recognized strength in leading people and teams regardless of reporting relationships or direct organizational authority 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, matrixed environment 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and experience providing strategic counsel and collaboration at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to distill complex information into compelling, simple terms with an understanding of public and employee perception 
  • Solutions-oriented with a willingness to bring new ideas and try new approaches 
  • Adept at working in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise mindset; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities 
  • Ability to travel domestically (appx 10%) 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in both a corporate and agency environment  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence; adept at consensus-building and incorporating differing viewpoints into recommendations 
  • Experience leading thought leadership positioning and communicating sensitive HR topics (e.g., inclusion, talent development, workplace culture) 
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to thoughtfully advise top executives, comfortably providing alternative points of view and influence decision making

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
