About the Role

The Associate Director, Corporate Functions, is responsible for leading all financial activities for the Global IT, AI and Global Business Services organizations within Corporate Functions. This role serves as a strategic finance partner to executive leadership, providing financial guidance, decision support, investment governance, and performance management to drive business outcomes and enterprise value creation.

 

The position is accountable for financial planning, forecasting, reporting, investment analysis, and maintaining a strong control environment across a complex global organization. The successful candidate will play a critical role in evaluating and prioritizing investments, driving return on investment across digital, AI, and business transformation initiatives, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and value realization.

 

This role requires exceptional business partnership, leadership, and collaboration across divisions, regions, and corporate functions. The position reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Functions Finance and serves as a key member of the Corporate Functions Finance leadership team.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide financial leadership and strategic business partnership for the Global IT, AI and Global Business Services organizations.
  • Lead all financial planning processes, including annual strategic planning, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, and resource allocation activities.
  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes and related reporting, ensuring financial accuracy, timely delivery of results, adherence to internal controls, and achievement of financial objectives.
  • Provide financial leadership and decision support for operating expense, capital expenditure, headcount, and investment management activities.
  • Partner with business leaders on investment decisions, including vendor pricing agreements, new business proposals, restructuring programs, investment rationalization efforts, and business case development.
  • Establish and lead financial governance processes for technology, AI, data, and business transformation investments to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities and financial objectives.
  • Evaluate and prioritize strategic initiatives through robust financial analysis, ROI assessments, scenario modeling, and value-creation frameworks.
  • Partner with business leaders to measure, monitor, and communicate the value realization of key investments, including digital transformation and AI-enabled initiatives.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain key financial metrics and KPIs aligned to business goals, operational performance, and strategic objectives.
  • Provide financial leadership for key transformation initiatives, digital programs, AI investments, and enterprise-wide business improvement efforts.
  • Maintain and continuously improve global financial processes, reporting capabilities, and analytical tools while ensuring compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all financial regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 controls.
  • Analyze and communicate the financial impact of special situations, including acquisitions, partnerships, distribution agreements, organizational changes, and strategic investments.
  • Produce, deliver, and communicate actionable business and financial insights that support strategic decision-making at the executive level.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, finance business partnering, strategic finance, or related finance leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of people leadership and team management experience.
  • Demonstrated success serving as a strategic finance business partner to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence business decisions and drive alignment across a highly matrixed global organization.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, investment analysis, and business case development skills.
  • Experience leading complex planning, forecasting, and performance management processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and business partners across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Strong executive-level verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
  • Strong process management, organizational, and project leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive change.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, Master's degree, CPA, CMA, or equivalent advanced professional certification.
  • Experience supporting Information Technology, Digital Transformation, AI & Data Management, Shared Services, Global Business Services, or other Corporate Functions.
  • Experience leading finance support for large-scale transformation programs, enterprise technology investments, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Experience with investment governance, portfolio management, and value realization frameworks.
  • Knowledge of enterprise financial systems such as SAP, Hyperion, SmartView, and SuccessFactors.
  • Experience working within a multinational, highly matrixed organization.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
