About the role:

Boston Scientific is recruiting for a Senior Marketing Specialist who will drive the omni-channel marketing strategy for the Boston Scientific Close the Gap health equity program. Close the Gap is an exciting Boston Scientific initiative focused on educating and empowering healthcare providers to reduce health inequities among underserved populations. The program aims to transform communities that have traditionally faced barriers accessing quality health care by eliminating healthcare inequities, increasing clinical trial recruitment, and improving quality of care.

The person in this position will support Close the Gap efforts through a multitude of channels which will ultimately further the program’s objective: ensuring people in need of medical treatment receive optimal care regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity or primary language. This position will report into the Direct-to-Patient and Direct-to-Referrer COE with close coordination with the Close the Gap program director. This position is preferred to be located in Maple Grove, MN, Marlborough, MA, or Alpharetta, GA.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Digital Channel Management
    • Develop a strong understanding of customers and their attitudes and behaviors across platforms, channels, and activities for robust segmentation and targeting
    • Responsible for enhancing and maintaining patient and provider websites that house educational materials and resources for Close the Gap efforts
    • Lead production of email campaigns and outreach
    • Support social media strategy and content creation, promoting Close the Gap opportunities relevant for Corporate channels
  • Multi-channel Lead Generation
    • Develop and implement digital plans across email, web, SEO/SEM, digital advertising, email, social media, landing pages, etc. with measurable objectives
    • Lead persona development and journey mapping exercises to inform content journeys and trigger points for campaigns
    • Develop lead generation and nurturing plans
    • Establish and assess marketing measurement plans
  • Content Development
    • Support the creation of new patient materials, including establishing resources to be used to encourage recruiting of diverse study volunteers for clinical trials
    • Lead development of resources to support better understanding of the cultural influences on patient care
    • Conduct market research to support expansion of understanding barriers to care with regard to different disease states

 

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of marketing and communications experience within a corporate or agency environment. Healthcare background strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Level Degree required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of brand strategy, positioning, and messaging.
  • Experience with multi-cultural marketing.
  • Strong digital marketing acumen with experience developing and executing digital marketing programs. Thorough understanding of digital platforms, channels (email, SEO, SEM, Social, and advertising including programmatic), user experience and content strategy is preferred.
  • Experience in direct-to-patient and direct-to-referrer marketing planning and measurement preferred.
  • Experience in commercial customer-facing roles and knowledge of hospital environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience and/or passion for healthcare access work, volunteerism, equality, and healthcare advocacy preferred.
  • Adept at working in a matrixed team environment while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable discussing race, ethnicity, and gender disparities.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed in support of medical congresses, community events, and other meetings.
  • Performs as a self-motivated, solutions-oriented professional who will recommend innovative approaches and take initiative in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with exemplary project management skills.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Media planning and buying experience preferred.
