As a Clinical Evaluation Intern you will support the Clinical Evidence Evaluation team by assisting with the management, organization, and maintenance of the medical literature database. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional to combine their skills designing and developing prompts for chatbots and their interest in medical writing, evidence evaluation, or clinical research. The intern will help ensure that the literature database remains accurate, complete, and formatted consistently to support clinical documentation such as Clinical Evaluation Reports (CERs), Post-Market Clinical Follow-up (PMCF) reports, and Summary of Safety and Clinical Performance (SSCP) reports.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support the Medical Literature Scientists in maintaining and updating the internal literature database.
- Clean and organize existing database entries to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and proper formatting.
- Add new publications from systematic literature searches and ensure correct citation and metadata entry.
- Assist with quality control checks to confirm all literature entries are current and aligned with documentation requirements.
- Design, develop, and refine effective prompts for chatbot interactions to enhance conversational performance, ensure accuracy of responses, and align with business objectives.
- Help format and edit database content, references, and summaries for clarity and compliance with internal standards.
- Collaborate with the clinical evidence team to support ongoing literature reviews and documentation updates.
- Support basic data tracking, reporting, and documentation activities as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Must graduate between Fall 2026 – Spring 2027
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate level degree majoring in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Biomedical Engineering
- Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th – August 7th OR May 26th – August 14th
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the Marlborough, MA, Boston Scientific Corporate location
- Must have a minimum of 3 months to 1 year of experience using Microsoft Excel, including functions such as pivot tables and other data analysis tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with database tools for data management and formatting.
- Interest in medical literature, clinical research, or regulatory documentation.
- Basic understanding of scientific writing and terminology (experience with citation tools such as EndNote is a plus), familiarity with reading and interpreting scientific literature.
- Experience developing and refining prompts for chatbot interactions
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Coursework or experience in clinical research methods, epidemiology, or data analysis.
- Experience with reference management or literature review processes and AirTable Database.
