About the role:
The Commercial Pricing & Contracting Manager plays a crucial role within the organization, supporting Boston Scientific’s commercial initiatives and sales objectives through effective pricing and contracting solutions that enhance business impact and value. This position involves collaborating with the ICTX, PI, AFS, and CRMDX commercial teams to develop and implement pricing and contracting strategies for key customers.


The Pricing and Contracting Manager will oversee and manage pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and compliance processes to achieve optimal profitability, competitive market positioning, and adherence to legal and business standards. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, finance, legal, and marketing to formulate strategic pricing models and manage contractual agreements. Responsibilities include extensive reporting and analysis, comprehensive contract management, and proactive decision support.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leads a team of high-performing Business Analysts responsible for financial modeling/analytics, developing and coordinating Requests for Proposal (RFP) responses, and managing complex sales contracts.
  • Develops and communicates the strategic, financial, and administrative implications of proposed and implemented pricing policies.
  • Partners with Sales Management to make price recommendations, ensure policy compliance, and provide input on final pricing contracts and their structure.
  • Assists in developing pricing strategies for current and future products across all relevant customer and market segments.
  • Tracks and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including contract status, pricing metrics, revenue and profitability, contract compliance, and contract performance metrics.
  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Identifies and implements best practices, processes, and tools to ensure effective workflow throughout the contract lifecycle and consistent processes that maximize sales execution, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Manages and mentors a team of pricing and contract analysts, ensuring continuous development and improvement in pricing practices and contract management.
  • Fosters a collaborative and results-oriented team environment, encouraging innovation and strategic thinking.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in pricing, contract management, or a related field, with proven success in developing and executing pricing strategies.
  • Experience working through RFP process
  • Understanding of financial modeling, market analysis, and pricing frameworks.
  • Negotiation skills and experience working with legal teams on contract development and execution.
  • Proficiency in pricing software, contract management tools, and data analytics platforms.
  • Ability to travel 10%. 

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Healthcare and/or medical device industry experience
  • People leadership experience providing leadership, development and coaching to a high performing team.
  • Exposure to Model N or other Contracting/Revenue Management systems
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to contracts and pricing.
  • Proven track record of optimizing pricing models and managing large-scale contract portfolios.
