About the role:


Boston Scientific seeks a Clinical Contract Specialist II to support the Global Regulatory Legal group through preparation, review and negotiation of a high volume of clinical study agreements and related agreements/documents across a global organization. The position involves working with global internal business partners and external vendors to faciliate the contracting process as well as seeking new ways to improve processes and help the group function more efficiently and effectively.


Location: Would consider applicants sitting in CA, MN or MA BSC office.  


Your responsibilies include: 


  • Prepare U.S. and International clinical study agreements and related agreements and documents (e.g., hospital use agreements, device purchase agreements)
  • Independently review revisions proposed by clinical sites and revise based upon Boston Scientific practices and procedures
  • Raise contract issues as appropriate and liaise between Legal, Risk Management, clinical teams and other internal stakeholders to resolve such issues
  • Coordinate the escalation to Global Regulatory Legal counsel of contract-specific legal issues outside of Boston Scientific's clinical contracting guidelines and procedures
  • Coordinate review of legal issues on site-specific clinical study patient informed consent forms and escalation to legal counsel as appropriate
  • Facilitate the onboarding of Contract Research Organization ("CRO") contract support teams to ensure Boston Scientific guidelines are communicated and understood
  • Interface with Boston Scientific clinical and CRO contract support teams regarding individual contracts and the contracting process
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall clinical contracting process


What we're looking for: 

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in clinical study contract management/administration and negotiation
  • Understanding of clinical contracting terms and conditions and legal requirements
  • Ability to read and understand contract terms, redline agreements and make decisions with a practical, business-minded approach to contract negotiation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational and administrative skills, including attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to communicate and manage personal project timelines and responsibilities
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders across the globe
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and in group settings
  • Ability to communicate via telecommunication and in-person
  • Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office and Adobe software)
  • Contribute to various internal operations projects (e.g., master agreements, templates)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using iManage
  • International contracting experience
  • Knowledge of different contract management systems
