About this role:

Conduct early stage health & disease-based opportunity assessments, evaluating clinical, social & technical merit of new ideas & technologies.  Assess clinical unmet need & pathway for development, as well as conduct clinical based diligence on potential partners.  He/she is also responsible for working across the organization with business & scientific stakeholders; business development, marketing, medical affairs, R&D, regulatory, & other groups, either leading or contributing on cross-functional projects which make recommendations to facilitate decision making on strategic growth opportunities.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Health & disease-based opportunity assessments.  Provides surveillance of new & emerging trends in human healthcare maintenance globally.  Conducts & refines analyses which highlight health disease fundamentals & benchmarks clinical performance of available/emerging diagnostics & therapies utilizing primary & secondary research sources.  Outlines expectations regarding clinical development pathway, including trial design & estimated investment. Independently manages projects, working with stakeholders to define scope while working cross functionally to gather input.
  • Clinical due diligence.  Collaborates with Business Development to conduct clinical due diligence assessments of potential partners.  While each diligence is tailored, general activities include review of relevant company documents (study summaries, protocols) to determine soundness of trial design & evidence of possible risk in context of landscape assessment.  Evaluates clinical strategy requirements for target device & portfolio of products, benchmarking predicate devices.  Visits company & conducts interviews as required.  Facilitates consensus on assessment with clinical & medical leadership.
  • Clinical strategy. Provides support to divisions in articulating clinical strategies & high- level design of trials for new or existing products.  Benchmarks predicate devices & their pathway to approval.  Works with clinical & regulatory leadership to build consensus on proposed evidence for new therapies & technologies.


What we’re looking for in you:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's level degree in Sciences/Healthcare/Biomedical required
  • 3+ years of experience in Health Industry or Healthcare experience required
  • 2+ years of experience with hands on experience with clinical trials, clinical practice or clinical data analytics (e.g. trial design, writing clinical trial protocols, analyzing or publishing trial data, with or without hands on patient management experience)
  • 1+ years of experience with exposure to clinical evidence strategies beyond randomized controlled trials (RCT), e.g. novel designs, platforms & technologies
  • 1+ year of experience in conducting primary research, either qualitative or quantitative; skill in engaging Key Opinion Leaders in discussion which generates insights on patient & disease management - (speicifically exposure to working with Physcians) 
  • Skills in data gathering & critical thinking with ability to identify key questions & draw concise & insightful conclusions from clinical & scientific literature to inform decision making
  • Experience reviewing & distilling key considerations from clinical trial protocols, publications & analysis
  • Consulting experience (either internal or external) specific to healthcare industry preferred


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred (MBA/MPH/MSc/PhD)
  • Experience with clinical trails in the medical device field preferred 
  • Proven experience in relationship development/collaboration across functions
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey complex topics simply & concisely & proven ability to adapt communication & messaging style according to audience
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including ability to develop relationships at all levels of organization
  • Analytical & quantitative skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent project execution skills
