Director, Global Clinical Sourcing

 

About the Role:
 

The Director, Global Clinical Sourcing leader at Boston Scientific is responsible for developing and executing optimal clinical sourcing strategies, selecting and managing global supplier relationships.  Drive sourcing/supplier initiatives to meet product, service, quality and overall clinical requirements, and achieve cost savings.

 

Your Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Direct/lead/coach Pre-Clinical & Clinical Sourcing team to ensure that strategies are developed and implemented, resulting in a strong supply base that continuously creates a sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Develop Annual Sourcing Plans that will reflect year-over-year cost reductions, quality enhancements and overall continuous improvement.
  • Provides strategic influence while building relationships with the clinical suppliers and respective internal clinical leadership
  • Develop global strategies to meet present and future supply and service requirements by applying advanced knowledge of sourcing principles, practices, tools and technology.
  • Build strong value-adding relationship with internal customer groups, cross functional team members and suppliers.
  • Develop, implement, and manage processes for supply and service-related (1) problem resolution and (2) opportunity identification between users and suppliers that result in high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.  Ensure all employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.

 

Compliance Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Develop and maintain Clinical Vendor Selection & Management Procedures
  • Oversee vendor performance through standardized metrics
  • Manage Healthcare Provider (HCP) contracting process for provision of services
  • Support regulatory audits for Clinical Studies which involve supplier
  • Select and manage vendors on the Clinical Approved Vendor List
  • Chair the Clinical Vendor Management Advisory Board
  • Facilitate and support Corrective Action Plans for Clinical Suppliers
  • Support acquisition responsibilities including:
    • Integral part of the diligence team to evaluate study & clinical outsourcing costs
    • Lead Clinical vendor integration in alignment with Clinical strategy
    • Identify strategic partners for new therapies

 

What We’re Looking For:
 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10+ years of Clinical and/or Sourcing experience
  • 5+ years of People Leadership Experience
  • Strong experience with negotiation of contract and commercial terms
  • Strong global leadership and collaboration skills



Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Clinical trial experience and/or knowledge preferred
  • FDA Regulated Experience preferred
  • MBA or Masters in related field preferred
