The Director, Global Value Improvement leads enterprise-wide continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives to deliver cost improvements, productivity and business performance. This role partners with global businesses, functions and regions to drive Enterprise Excellence initiatives that help fuel growth and achieve Boston Scientific’s strategic operating income goals.
This leader will play a critical role in identifying enterprise-wide value creation opportunities, optimizing operating expenses and advancing end-to-end process automation and artificial intelligence capabilities. Through strong cross-functional leadership, the role enables scalable transformation, operational discipline and sustainable business impact across the enterprise.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be onsite at Valenica - CA, Marlborough - MA, Maple Grove - MN, Arden Hills - MN, Heredia - Costa Rica, Galway - Ireland, OR Clonmel - Ireland office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:
● Lead Enterprise Excellence teams to drive value improvement initiatives across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions and deliver industry-leading margins.
● Partner with leaders across the enterprise to embed continuous improvement through enterprise-wide toolkits, recognition programs, capabilities and methods.
● Identify opportunities across the Boston Scientific P&L and lead prioritized enterprise-wide strategic transformation programs.
● Lead and steward the Value Improvement sponsorship coalition to create engagement and passion for continuous improvement.
● Build a strong pipeline of value improvement projects across the enterprise to achieve targeted annual rates of improvement.
● Partner with leaders across the enterprise to deliver cash and productivity value improvement programs supporting long-range plans for operating margin, gross margin, SG&A and R&D.
● Partner with global teams to deliver top-quartile variable spend performance.
● Lead and deliver prioritized variable spend programs to optimize category spend.
● Drive and support SG&A initiatives globally to achieve strategic plan commitments and identify additional policy and enterprise-wide opportunities to improve operating expenses.
● Lead the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency and business growth across end-to-end business processes.
● Define and execute an AI strategy aligned with business priorities and value creation goals.
● Lead cross-functional teams to design, build and deploy AI and machine learning solutions.
● Identify high-impact use cases and drive delivery from ideation through implementation and scaling.
● Establish best practices for data governance, model development, validation and lifecycle management.
● Partner with business leaders to integrate AI into core business processes and workflows.
● Drive adoption of AI tools by fostering a data-driven, innovation-focused culture.
● Monitor model performance and ensure continuous improvement and business value realization.
● Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management or another related field.
● Minimum of 10 years' experience managing operational excellence and process improvement initiatives across broad organizations.
● Minimum of 5 years' experience with AI and automation toolkits.
● Minimum of 10 years' supervisory and management experience.
● Experience working globally across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.
● Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
● Ability to travel globally up to 30%.
Preferred qualifications:
● MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline.
● Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide transformation and value improvement initiatives.
● Experience driving operational excellence within a highly matrixed, global organization.
● Strong understanding of enterprise financial metrics, including operating margin, gross margin, SG&A and R&D performance.
● Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead through organizational change.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
