About the role:

Reporting to the HRBP for HR and in collaboration with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT), this position will lead the development and evaluation of our HR Strategy. In partnership with the leadership team this position will focus on the 'what' we deliver across the function, with our HR Operating Model at the center. Identify and bring key insights and best practices into leading our Strat Plan and AOP and strategic workforce planning cycles, enabling HR leadership to build data-based talent plans to support the business. Distill and use local plans as an input to corporate strategy, to advance our support to the business and enable BSC’s growth through a sustainable, agile, best-in-class HR function. In partnership with the team, develop the HRLT agenda and planning cycles. Develop and lead our strategic portfolio review process. This individual is curious and analytical, able to distill clarity from complexity, and can manage projects from start to finish. 

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive key HR planning activities (e.g., Strat Plan, AOP, Forecast, HR headcount) ensuring they are aligned to the HR Operating Model. Provide insights and guidance to adjust where needed.
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to develop a full understanding of the business strategy, competitive landscape, risks, and opportunities.
  • Work with HRBP for HR to define the required organizational capabilities needed to win and deliver strategy.
  • Using both qualitative and quantitative methods to identify and define any key capability gaps.
  • Bring a consultative approach to defining, designing, and developing HR strategy and portfolio planning review process. 
  • Collaborate across HRLT developing long-term & annual business plans
  • Ability to establish strong relationships and be viewed as a trusted partner
  • Drive planning process & evaluate investment & headcount needs across strategic priorities 
  • Manage planning progress ensuring plans are completed within agreed upon timelines.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders– including identifying macro trends, scoping needs, developing strategic framework, creating implementation plans, timelines, deliverables, etc.  
  • Develop communication materials to present to key stakeholders 
  • Prepare presentations, recaps and other materials needed to manage and communicate insights and strategic recommendations to key executives and stakeholders

 

Required qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10 + years of professional business experience is required.
  • Strategic systems thinker: comfortable participating in strategic planning processes, and able to understand and identify critical drivers of business strategy. 
  • Planner: expert at identifying and clearly articulating capability plans.
  • Forecaster: use data and inputs to conduct SWOT analyses, predict future state, build scenarios
  • Assessor: Experienced in designing and executing capability assessments using quantitative (e.g., surveys design and interpretation) and qualitative (e.g., interviews, focus groups, facilitated workshops) methods.
  • Consultant: use adept questioning to get beyond symptoms to root causes; able to identify, separate and synthesize the key points that matter out of the noise; able to tailor complex messages to different audiences; a pragmatic problem-solver who can imagine the possible, and make it practical.
  • Collaborator: you can lead without authority and facilitate agreement on paths forwards with teams to create coherent alignment towards end goals. You operate without ego, and believe that while you can go fast alone, we go further together.
  • Executor: you bring strong execution skills and are comfortable deploying differing methodologies depending on what works best – classical waterfall project/program management, or agile cross-functional sprints.
  • Knowledge with Strat Planning and Annual Operating Plan, knowledge of standard P&L metrics

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
