Your Opportunity:  

As an R&D Engineer Intern at Boston Scientific, you will… 

  • Apply your classroom education in an R&D environment

Your Impact 

Examples of meaningful work by an R&D Engineer Intern: 

  • Undertake and successfully complete project/product development tasks including any of the following: writing and verifying specifications, maintaining product/process documentation, testing processes, equipment, raw materials, and product, and validating equipment and processes.   
  • Applies the Technical Development Process (TDP)/Product Development Process (PDP) methodologies to bring new products to market and/or sustain commercial products on the market. 
  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community. 
  • Identifies areas for improvement, suggests solutions, and submits idea records. 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Biomechanical Engineering.
  • Must have Testing and Lab experience
  • Must graduate between Fall 2026 – Spring 2027. 
  • Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship.
  • Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th – August 7th OR May 26th – August 14th, 2026.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the Marlborough, MA, Boston Scientific Corporate location.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data Analysis and Problem Solving 
  • Mechanical Design Experience (CAD/Solidworks/Prototyping/Design for Manufacture/etc.)
  • General report writing/documentation experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams. 
  • Desire to work in a medical device company

Maximum Salary: $73,528

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
