About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Field HEMA Manager to join our team, focusing on the GI/Endoscopy segment. A successful candidate will possess excellent technical expertise in healthcare administration and delivery, facility and physician reimbursement, and health economic value messaging. This individual will exhibit outstanding communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to a broad and diverse group of key stakeholders. They will also convey the unique capabilities that Boston Scientific Endoscopy brings to this market. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy both strategic planning and execution.

 

This is a field-based position with an estimated overnight travel requirement of up 75%. The position will cover the Mid-Atlantic Region, including North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the implementation of health economic, reimbursement, and value-selling strategies and activities for Boston Scientific (BSC), working with divisional staff and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with sales and sales leadership to plan and prioritize customer meetings, delivering value-selling messages to drive BSC Endoscopy priorities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Clinical, and Health Economics teams to anticipate market needs and contribute to the development of customer-facing tools, economic models, and other tactical elements of reimbursement to maximize patient access to BSC Endoscopy technologies.
  • Educate and train sales teams on health economic tools and messaging through both in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Develop relationships with local physician champions to support interactions with hospital administrators.
  • Ensure health economic and value-selling methodologies and messages are consistent across the division and compliant with legal and regulatory guidance.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in the delivery and/or administration of healthcare or medical device industry experience, preferably with experience in endoscopy or surgical specialties.
  • Strong understanding and application of principles and concepts in health economics, reimbursement, and/or market access, with the ability to articulate the current and future market access landscape.
  • Understanding of the healthcare industry reimbursement environment.
  • Familiarity with hospital and ASC financial systems and management practices.
  • Ability to present complex health economic information to both large and small influential groups in a manner that is easy to understand, credible, and engaging.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and experience working successfully in a matrixed organization with various internal business partners (e.g., sales, sales training, marketing, and clinical).
  • Knowledge of U.S. healthcare policy and payment systems, including Medicare, commercial payers, hospital inpatient and outpatient, and ASC sites of service.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated skills in account management and customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in health policy, health economics, healthcare administration, health services research, or a similar discipline.
  • Sales training, sales management, or prior sales experience.
  • Ability to effectively operate financial models to demonstrate to customers how Boston Scientific Endoscopy products will economically impact their facility or healthcare system.
  • Experience training sales team members, both individually and in group settings, on the use of economic tools such as calculators, presentations, and messaging in a compliant manner.
  • Ability to elicit and interpret customers’ goals, needs, and priorities and creatively address them with Boston Scientific products and programs.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness and sense of urgency in pursuing goals and completing tasks.
  • Strong ability to set and manage priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to work with ambiguity and continuously adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience working as part of both functional and cross-functional teams.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
