Global Supply Chain Planner III

About the Role:

At Boston Scientific, the Global Supply Chain Planner III collaborates with divisional, regional, and clinical counterparts to plan for and maintain appropriate levels of finished goods inventories (owns enterprise-wide SI&OP process). Drives business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, and new product launches. Monitors key sales and operations planning performance indicators, cost to serve performance data, and coordinates cross functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives. Helps to drive end to end thinking and agility across value streams with the end customer in mind.


Your Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Computer and Systems Knowledge: Possesses solid knowledge of Microsoft suite, with proficiency in Excel. Also possesses solid knowledge of SAP ERP and Kinaxis Rapid Response planning systems. Utilizes conceptual knowledge within the planning system to solve problems that impact daily planning.
  • Data Analytics: Possesses the ability to conduct solid analytics on business problems and datasets. Produces, retrieves, and interprets reports using standard systems and tools. Applies understanding of supply chain-related metrics to accomplish own work.
  • Inventory Management: Daily monitoring of inventory levels for products in their portfolio. Recommends inputs to inventory targets and maintain in system, applying understanding of business drivers and solid knowledge of own job function. Manages inventory to plan, identifies and leads opportunities for improvement and in short supply situations, allocates product with moderate level of guidance and using prescribed guidelines or policies. Communicates supply updates to marketing and regional planners, with factual sometimes complex and potentially dynamic information in straightforward situations.
  • Manage Forecast Inputs / Improve Forecast Accuracy: Works directly with marketing, sales operations, and regional planners to set the forecast to meet global demand for stable portfolios, less complex supply chains. Organizes and presents data to influence and improve forecast accuracy and reduce forecast bias through moderate level of guidance and direction from more senior roles within the job function.
  • SI&OP process: Facilitates portions of cross-functional SI&OP Demand Planning and Net Requirements meetings. Independently collaborates with global peers to ensure complete and credible net requirements for standard and more complex situations are being captured for products in their portfolio. Independently works with supply sites/SFMD’s for Supply Management on identifying and presenting standard and more complex issues or decisions needing escalation to Integration & Reconciliation. Support projects or analysis resulting from SI&OP process.
  • Manage product lifecycle events effectively (launches, transitions and EOLife/EOService): Independently prepares product lifecycle SI&OP templates. Ensures sufficient inventory per product event plan and communicates product lifecycle tracking materials to cross functional SI&OP team. Recommends changes to inventory strategy as needed. Escalate issues through SI&OP process. Represents supply chain on more complex product development, sustaining engineering or EOL/EOS team.
  • Partnership with Clinical Supply Chain: Partners with Clinical Supply Chain to gain general knowledge on clinical study inventory needs. Inquires and understands Clinical inventory strategy (e.g., one-time builds, replenishment/rolling builds). Provides additional considerations on forecasting. Includes clinical study demand in overall demand forecast.
  • Master Data Maintenance: Ensures GSCP-owned fields are complete and accurate for the products in their portfolio. Remain current on training for SOP’s and Work Instructions regarding ERP and planning system master data. May be knowledgeable on master data fields managed in other functions to provide input when asked.
  • Project Management: Develops and documents project plans. Gain an understanding of dependencies and sequence of events. Executes required monthly/scheduled tasks with some oversight and applies understanding of business drivers and how own team integrates with others to accomplish own work. May lead a project team of small to moderate scope with moderate level of guidance and direction. Escalates issues to management and uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations and resolving problems to deliver continuous business results.
  • Leadership:  No supervisory responsibility; may provide informal guidance to new team members.
  • Supply Chain Design:  Supply Chain representative within a franchise or product line, supporting the end-to-end supply chain design. (e.g., New Product Launches, Acquisitions, Integrations, Site Transfers Optimized Product Flow, Resiliency)
     

What We're Looking For:

 
Required Qualifications: 
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 3+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Planning, materials management, manufacturing planning or inventory control function
  • Working experience with DRP, MPS, MRP, SAP or ERP System
  • PC skills utilizing such software programs as Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Consistently performs to a high level of accuracy and with a high attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and willing to accept new ideas, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical critical thinking skills and able to make efficient decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and with business stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
