About the role: 

Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from SAP ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardize and modernize our core business processes, enabling BSC to better leverage the power of data and to position our business for profitable and sustainable growth.

Boston Scientific is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to support SAP Production Planning (SAP PPDS) and Supply Chain Planning for our S4 HANA business transformation program (Magellan). This individual will be part of the Enterprise Competency Center and will be the primary technical owner, which includes solution design, development, enhancement, documentation, and support end-to-end Supply Chain Planning business needs. In addition, the person will lead, collaborate and provide cutting edge solution to to meet business requirements. 

 

Your responsibilities include: 

  • Solution design, architecture, build, test, and implementation of end-to-end Supply Chain planning primarily focusing SAP PPDS, MRP, Planning tool like Kinaxis
  • Represent as an architect from Planning area and collaborate closely with cross functional teams and other solution architects to provide end-to-end solution to our business in planning area
  • Analyzing and translating business and technical requirement into an architectural blueprint that outlines solution to achieve complex business objectives
  • Provide architecture and design guidance to the development team to configure and develop solution as per the product development standard to meet business requirements
  • Work closely with the project team (internal and external) to assure a timely solution 
  • May lead multiple project activities simultaneously, working with internal and external cross-functional groups
  • Resolve technical issues including diagnosis of problem, recommendations for workarounds and defect correction 
  • Analyze, design, construct, test, and implement system or application enhancements
  • Create and maintain all required technical documentation per IS methodology and processes
  • Demonstrate technical leadership by staying current on new technologies
  • Understand customer’s business implications and incorporate understanding into technical and process improvement recommendations 
  • Lead or support roll-out and implementation of new business applications and functionality specifically within planning area
  • Adhere to project plans, tasks, and deliverables; identify dependencies and resource requirements
  • Appropriately communicate project status, escalate issues, and manage timelines and action items
  • Build presentations, that demonstrates conceptual design and explain solution to key stake holders 


What we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ Years of Solution Architect experience in Supply Chain Planning area
  • 10+ Years of SAP or non-SAP Production Planning and execution implementation experience and 2-3 years in S/4HANA implementation engagements
  • Experience with 2-3 full life cycle implementations in SAP IBP, MM, PPDS and SAP/Non-SAP Planning
  • Experience in solution architecture, design, and execution in Planning area
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of industry practices, software solution and methodologies to make a technical recommendation on complex business problems
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership experience
  • Strong experience in Supply Chain Planning and Execution  
  • Strong configuration and implementation skills in the areas of SAP. Experience with Forecasting, Demand Management, Production Planning (MRP) and Shop Floor Execution
  • Knowledge and experience of master data distribution of work centers / Resources, production versions, PPMs, PDS, capacities, Time-streams, CIF
  • Knowledge of working on Production orders/Planned orders, Material Master, BOM, Routing, Work Centers, Production Version
  • Knowledge of Material Planning using SAP MRP
  • Understanding the integration with various SAP modules like MM, QM, SD, WM and PM
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager Charm is an added advantage
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Experience with Medical Device or Life Sciences beneficial
