About the role:
Reporting to the SVP of Global Strategy and Business Development, the VP of Business Development (BD) will be responsible for BD activities within the Endoscopy and Urology Pelvic Health divisions. The role relates to identifying, prioritizing and executing BD transactions (ie acquisitions, divestitures, venture investments, material licensing transactions, JVs, etc) that advance the divisional and corporate strategies.  He/she will work with divisional leadership and divisional/corporate functions to characterize new market opportunities, identify, and assess target companies, disposition inbound opportunities, conduct due diligence, evaluate potential deal structures and terms, and develop actionable recommendations.  The VP of BD will manage and develop a team of four.
Your responsibilities include:
⦁    Establish strategic external priorities for each division including acquisition, distribution and
equity investments through strategic analysis of key portfolio gaps, adjacencies and high potential categories.
⦁    Manage development and maintenance of complex market models for potential partnership / investment / acquisition opportunities (internal and/or external).  If formal diligence initiated, work closely with divisional finance team to build valuation scenarios by providing business guidance and coordinating cross-functional inputs into model.
⦁    Engage and manage interactions with external companies along with internal subject matter experts and leadership.  Interactions often take the form of face-to-face or telephone discussions.  Provide detailed meeting reports to key parties (including key insights, next steps, etc.) and coordinate next steps internally as appropriate.
⦁    Lead due diligence strategy and process for division.  Coordinate cross-functional teams from throughout the company to perform detailed diligence work and report back with comprehensive findings, next steps, and clear recommendations on how to proceed.
⦁    Develop and present "pitch decks" for division and corporate leadership, CPC (our corporate decision-making body for all M&A and BD transactions), EC to justify moving forward with potential partnership / investment / acquisition opportunities.
⦁    Build investment cases for key divisional initiatives included in annual Strategic Plan.
What we’re looking for:

⦁    BS or BA degree in applicable field including coursework in Finance and Strategy.  MBA preferred but not necessary.
⦁    12+ years of related experience with significant time spent in M&A/Business Development activities and related such as Finance, Strategy, and/or Investment Banking / Strategy Consulting in the healthcare domain (medical device, pharma, healthcare).
⦁    Understanding of laws, regulations, standards and guidance’s governing the conduct of a medical device company.
⦁    Ability to rapidly be conversant with the company’s technology platforms, therapeutic products and markets coupled with the ability to deeply and thoroughly analyze a business.
⦁    Excellent analytical thinking and financial acumen with a demonstrated track record of delivering sustainable business results and creating shareholder value.
⦁    Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, coupled with the presence and self-confidence to interface with the key constituents including Senior Management, Investment Committee members, Board of Directors, management teams of companies, deal sources, service providers and others.   
⦁    An organized and motivated self-starter with the capacity to work individually and as part of a team effort.  Additionally, he/she will be able to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm and diplomacy and have demonstrated the ability to develop less senior investment team members, lead by example and influence to encourage collaboration across functions, levels, and groups to achieve shared objectives.

The Endoscopy and Urology Pelvic Health divisional headquarters and BD teams are located in Marlborough, MA.  There is a preference for this role to sit in MA, but open to the possibility of being remote.
