About the role:

Responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering support and expertise in the definition, design, development, test and sustaining of products. Independently or as a member of a team directs, develops, concepts, and executes specifications, designs, plans and builds of products or complex manufacturing and test equipment.

 

Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies as part of sustaining commercialized Capital systems
  • Documents electrical development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
  • Tracks electrical development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved tracking management tool.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional experts in a wide range of fields to solve complex engineering and business challenges.
  • Translates highly technical results into easily understood recommendations that will influence cross-functional and senior stakeholders.
  • Manages third party designers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to deliver high quality engineering solutions at an accelerated pace.
  • Investigates, researches and selects electronic circuits, components, tools, equipment and using best practices.

 

Other General Responsibilities

  • Fully participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: product design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations (animal and clinical studies), report preparation, and process/test documentation.
  • Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
  • Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
  • Designs, procures, and fabricates tooling and fixtures.
  • Performs troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community.
  • Responsible for engineering documentation.
  • Invents/ creates concepts and designs for new products/processes and submits idea disclosures.
  • May train and/or provide work direction to technicians.
  • Works cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure project success.
  • Demonstrates PDP/TPD system knowledge through completion of high quality deliverables.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronics
  • 7-10 years of relevant Electrical and Electronic R&D work experience
  • Excellent hands-on electronics prototyping, debug, verification, and failure analysis skills
  • Experience working within Design Controls or equivalent for Medical Device Industry is a distinct advantage
  • Experience in leading and developing electrical capabilities within teams
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively mentor others
