About the Role
Close the Gap is a Boston Scientific health equity initiative focused ​on educating and empowering healthcare providers to reduce ​treatment inequities experienced by underserved populations including women and people of color. This role will lead program marketing development and implementation in the U.S. and future expansion opportunities. In partnership with healthcare providers, professional societies and community conveners, Close the Gap strives to improve access to specialty care for patients living with and at-risk of chronic conditions aligned with Boston Scientific therapies. Location:  Preference to be close to BSC offices MA, MN or GA.  This role has the flexibility to be remote.


Your responsibilities will include:
The successful candidate for this position will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to develop the Close the Gap market development strategy and manage the health equity marketing efforts (from concept, development, launch, and retirement). The person in this role will aggregate quantitative and qualitative market data to define and productize health equity resources that will differentiate Boston Scientific and support customers in closing the health inequities gap. To achieve these objectives, the candidate will collaborate with the Close the Gap health equity consultants, divisional marketing, sales & delivery teams, corporate marketing, and external partners. The candidate will also be responsible for measuring and managing marketing program penetration, adoption, and effectiveness in delivering value and differentiating Boston Scientific.


  • Develop and execute annual marketing plans that clearly outline strategies, tactics, and measurement to deliver improved reach and growth. 
  • Drive effective marketing programs, including targeting, positioning, value propositions, channel, communication, and sales strategies to support new efforts.
  • Gather learnings, define best practices, and improve performance (i.e. key metrics) to influence program strategy (e.g. continued execution, enhancements, end of life).
  • Serve as a marketing functional expert to external and internal customers and the broader organization; the “go-to” person for health equity marketing guidance and insight.
  • Create and maintain deployable educational resources for healthcare providers to use in support of better diverse patient care.
  • Develop key marketing resources and collateral around Close the Gap, working closely with agencies and media to develop the right messaging and its delivery; manage all required stakeholder approvals; measure the effectiveness of the resources.
  • Partner with digital strategist on Close the Gap multi-channel campaign planning and execution with clearly defined objectives, strategies, tactics, and measurement.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with key health system administrators, physicians, medical societies, and advocacy groups.
  • Provide ongoing strategic marketing counsel and serve as thought partner to senior executives and business management partners across various Business Units.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications to share content for use on Boston Scientific external and internal channels and in the development of public relations programming.
  • Engage in opportunities to promote Close the Gap at major medical meetings and/or convenings (booths, educational panels, and collateral). Track and report on key program metrics, aligned with the business case and overall solutions goals & objectives.
  • Mentor less experienced Marketing colleagues in developing functional and leadership skills.


What we’re looking for in you:

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA or MBA in Marketing or related field
  • Minimum 7 years professional experience in Healthcare Marketing or Product Management
  • Experience in medical device marketing and/or healthcare marketing
  • Ability to build enthusiasm for change
  • Proven strategic planning and analytical skills to resolve complex issues in creative ways
  • Strong collaboration and team-based skills with proven ability to navigate and influence across a matrix environment
  • Ability to manage agency partners and all aspects of the budget 
  • Clear thinker, strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communicator with proven ability to build networks, partner with peers, engage external customers, and influence healthcare systems change
  • Computer Skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Willing and able to travel as needed


 Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, Public health experience a plus
  • Experience working directly with physicians and hospital administration
  • Health equity and/or population health experience
  • Experience partnering with sales teams on driving engagement with hospitals
