Electrical Engineer I

 

About the role:
This person will support Systems Engineering and Direct Imaging Center of Excellence (DICE) for Endoscopy R&D at Boston Scientific. This role is responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering support in the definition, design, development and test of next generation products. Under limited supervision/guidance, compiles, analyzes, and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products.
 
Your responsibilities include:

  • Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
  • Documents electrical development by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests. Methods used are determined by approved procedures and standards.
  • Participates in solving engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, verifies, requirements, circuits, and systems by using engineering practices.
  • Investigates, researches, selects electronic circuits, components, tools, equipment and practices.
  • Participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: product design and development, test of materials, preparation of specifications, process capability studies, research investigations (animal and clinical studies), report preparation, and process/test documentation.
  • Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines.
  • Designs, procures, and fabricates tooling and fixtures.
  • May perform troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.
  • Responsible for engineering documentation.
  • Works cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure project success.
  • Demonstrates Product Life Cycle system knowledge through delivery of high-quality deliverables.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Self-motivated with some academic projects and/or internships developing electrical systems.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of medical device engineering
